I'm second house across the street from a forest preserve... There's an entrance just across the street from the neighbor across from us...

It's kind of a family tradition of ours to walk our Dalmatians on the bridal paths through the woods... We've walked 8 generations of Dalmatians on them and had 10 Dalmatians in the family since 1948... We even go on a trail that has been closed for decades because the bridge on it has washed out...

My ex was telling me that she once saw on the internet that our town was rated the top of the country for fresh air because we're so close to the forest preserve...

There's a few houses in our town that have horse stables and walk their horses on the trails also... Plus a farm that where you can pay to ride horses on the trails with a guide...

Except when I was there....

I packed my car with my stuff to come visit my dad in Chicago for Easter, got my two Dalmatians in the back seat and get in the car and we get hit with a blizzard where you couldn't see 4 cars in front of you... So I get me and the dogs out and call my dad to tell him that we are delayed or may not be able to go, and I hear what sounds like a car idling in my driveway...

So I look out the window and see cars coming up my driveway and driving in my front lawn to the neighbor's driveway and then back onto the street... One of the utility poles across the street fell and was blocking the street and everybody was detouring around it in our yard... :mob: :wtf:

I never got to make it to see my dad...


Freakin' crazy, we get warm enough weather down there to barbecue the second week of Feb, but get a blizzard in the middle of April.... :BangHead: :wtf:
