Good Morning Mike and Karl. What happened to Ray this morning I wonder. Hope he's ok.
We were able to get to do some work on the kids Valiant. I took the gas tank and tube out to see WTF is going on....
With the tank and tube out of the car, I can't get the tube into the tank... Too much interference with the grommet...
So I took the grommet out of the tank and tried to put it on the bare tube, and it didn't want to go...
I asked/"challenged" one of the kid's 22 year old male friends to get the bare grommet on the tube, and he was able to do it after fighting it for a minute...
So I'm thinking that the grommet has too much interference....
The filler tube is running near 2.000" +/- .006", and the grommet inner diameter installed in the tank is running near 1.875" +/- .010"
I think that .125" is kind of too much interference. I will have to call Mancini Racing to discuss their filler tube grommet/seal with them.
However we did get the rear brakes off and replaced the parking brake cables with the proper set now.... Now to get the rest of the cables installed and hooked up....
Then see if I can get a hold of the body guy and see if he can finish the Challenger conv't paint...

Yes TGIF! Friday the 13'th to boot! Really foggy here this morning. I have to drive 45 min. north to start my route. I'm glad it's on a 4 lane highway. I beter get the day started. It's almost 8 and I haven't taken a shower yet. Have a good one guys!
Morning, the lap top would not boot up this morning, the battery was lose! duh.
The oldest boy starts his new job today, and we're getting some tools together for him. He's working at a car repair shop that works on cars from 1950 to present. They have a GTO, Corvette, and 66 Mustang in there for work right now....
He should like the job if the people are good. Hoping it goes well for him. He's nervous with anticipation right now... Normal first day jitters....

Yep, I think my problem is in the grommet... Too much interference...
ale:I don't want to grind down the grommet to fit... :banghead: I shouldn't have to modify a new part to fit my car.... :banghead:
I see an area on the grommet where there is sort of a flat spot where it should be round... #-o
I have suspicions about the grommet... :???:

TGIF everybody, hey Mike that happens to me all the time...I think it's because I'm a lefty. I lost a resume I had been working a whole day on one time!!
At least I did not ned a translation on the tab that said 'LOCK"
Holy crap, that's two Friday the 13th's in a row. We had one last month also...
I had a class that day and the next class is the end of this month... Which reminds me that I have work to do for that class.... :banghead:

Yes Rudy was back on the road by 11 a.m. riding better than ever. Davis garage on Johns Island is a great shop, the two brothers are 72 and 80, both working every day, very good people I'm lucky to have found when I moved here from Atlanta.
Yes. Especially when it is something that he likes and should enjoy. One of the owners is a car guy (GM I think), but has sponsored a cruise in 2014. They also work on classics which my son loves.
He also wants to work on more than just Mopar. I keep telling him that I'm stocked up for Mopar, I can't keep stocking parts for the other brands also.... :banghead:
The boy should get along well there, they have similar interests. :cheers:

The dog woke me up early this morning, I noticed this rancid rotten egg smell, then open my eyes and look behind me, and the dog's @ss is right there behind my head..... :shock: #-o
