I have hooked the trickle charger up during the winter when I think about it.So you don't seem to have trouble with yours. Do you keep it on a trickle charger??

Good Morning to you Sunshine.
What do you have for charging and maintaining?@toolmanmike
Mike did you ever get one of those battery topper plates. I saw you in the thread I read this morning.
My resto battery is fading again. I'm not buying another one, time for plan B.
What do you have for charging and maintaining?
And maybe try to figure out why its failing - I mean chemically.
I was thinking first to check the level and concentration. Can you open up the cells and add some water??? That will help the battery last longer...

Well the battery (dry battery) is only a couple months old. They (Antique Auto Battery) make them as you order them. What do you have for charging and maintaining?

It used to be called VX6But if there's a bunch of heavy buildup on the plates, that needs to be broken up.
Or if its fallen to the bottom as flakes - that doesn't reverse easily either. right?
There's a chemical that supposed to help with that. I'll try to find the name of it.
Only a problem if you cook 'em off. And they don't like a heavy charge 'cause the acid is absorbed in the matting so they get hotter with more recharge current. Definately did not do that battery any favors by recharging off the alternator after the jump starts. Then you can't add water to those sealed type....
Never knew the brand name. The article gave the chem name - good mostly if you had access to an old school phamacy or chem supply. It used to be called VX6
