I saw someone write about batteries, how to make them look original. So, here is me, and how I think. These days if you think you have a battery issue, you go to the place where you bought the battery. Then some boy or girl who does not even know where the battery is located comes out with this fancy computerized what do you call it, and after they have found the battery, if they do, they hook it up, and push a few gazillion buttons, and tell you if the battery is good or bad. I am still stupid, so I can not understand how they can measure all the 6 cells in my battery and find out how they are by measuring the total voltage. Unless newer batteries have a little onboard computer that measure every cell in the battery and send a high frequency signal out on top of the 12 volt dc signal. I have never heard about that, so I am in the dark there.
Anyway, if the battery does not have a built in computer who measure every cell, what that instrument is telling is just bogus. Because, when you come with the battery to the battery place, you, they, and the instrument does not know how well the battery is charged. It might be just half charged, and the what do you call it take that as a damaged cell. I am by nature sceptic to all new ideas, because so often the idea is founded in just theory, and not in practical life. If the idea proves good, I am willing to admit it. But, they better have a very good explanation for it. And they better know what they are talking about, for I am famous for asking that horrible question any sales person hate to be asked. The one that ruins the billion dollar sale. An example of that later. I'll tell you, sales people really hate me.
Now, from what I understand, most of the batteries today for cars are gel batteries. But, batteries for heavy machinery, like farm tractors or so are the old style liquid acid battery.
I have googled it, and it seems it is possible to find loose battery caps online. So, next time I get a new battery, I am tempted to go to Tractor Supply, buy a battery, order 6 loose caps, and make 6 holes on top of the battery, and glue the new caps on top of the battery and it will look a lot better already. And, then it will also be possible to replace labels too.
