See that Charger is back? Heard you got the 383 running?
I did. Put the Carb off the Dart on it. New plugs, Changed oil, Cheapo electric fuel pump, Tank on the roof, hot wired, Ran good. Smoked like heck!!! Imagine that...

But it ran. No 2x4's and sledge hammers. Like when I went to look at my 66. Jump started it off a tractor battery and trickled gas down the carb.

Actually surprised that thing was pretty frozen. Guess all that pee I put in the plug holes worked! I should bottle and sell it.

Hey Tim glad to hear you got the beast running. I'm sure that put a smile on your face.
I'm glad you are taking it back to original. It is a rare one, and should be original.
Keep us posted.

Had that old beer smell??
Ray made a concoction consisting of PB Blaster, and some other stuff, he can enlighten us. Left it in the cylinders for a few weeks......Engine was solid, after soaking in the stuff, the starter turned it over, no need for a breaker bar. Fan moved just a little at first, I knew I had it. Every time I hit the button, it has a funky push push button for starter, it moved more. Till, Wa La!!!

On the pt cruisers, there is a ground strap from strut to body, aparrently to dissipate static and prevent premature strut bearing failure.
Same on Neon. Noticed it on one side and not the other when I got my tires on. Rodney told me what they were for.
What is that potting material anyway. Liquid silicone when it's poured in?

Its simular to an epoxy.

Just curious, never tried to cut it out. Can it be softened with heat?
Must have been different kinds. Ive seen more than a few with it running down the inner fender like tar.
Morning everyone, snowing here, makes the coffee tast that much better.
No snow yet. But after a t-shirt day yesterday I think we dipped to the 40s overnight. Felt chilly this morning.
Told her she was on her own concerning lodging.....
What do you need lodging for. She can drive for the few minuts you usually sleep
Good Morning

Good morning all folks. We are home, been sleeping in our beds. Not supposed to be, but we couldn't do it. I forgot my medicine, and had to go back, and the closer I got.to home, the more tears were running. Oh man it is hard, especially since we had this in 2017 and were Eva hated for several days. Yesterday was horrible, the fire increased from 30000 acres to 54000. And they could not use air support since the wind gusts were up to 100 mph. It was crazy. Last night the wind fell like 7-8 hours before predicted. So, today they are supposed to use 28 helicopters and 4 bombers including the huge 747

Thank you for everyone who have been thinking about us, and prayed.

Eva hated is my telephone's way of saying e v a c u a t e d.

We were forced to flee last year, No fun, But we have a fifth wheel trailer to live in, in the wall mart parking lot, with lots of others. It will all work out......Fingers crossed....

PB, old trans fluid and MEK. and some hoppy dehydration of course!

So in their infinite wisdom, ford did some changes to rear diff making one bearing exclusive to ford. So no kit to replace all the bearings. All individual parts.
Ford parts, no discount and a big loss on hoist time. Not a great day.

Ive never tried to remove it before but imagine there is a method as they used to rebuild our cards. I imagine Jim Kueneman might know.
Back when I worked at palce that made electromechanical airbag sensors. After soldering, the electricals got a conformal coating over it. Then in the 'can' they were filled with a two part epoxy. Had some flexibility even fully cured.
The Chrysler ECMs seem a little different - at least from the photos I saw. Looked like like top seal poured over a different material inside.
???
If Jim has cut one open be interesting to hear what he found. Nacho is smart but his spanglish can be brutal. lol.

Must be.
Sounds like the ones Ray tried to cut open were some sort of hard epoxy.

One big difference is our sensors had no electronics. So no heat.
ECU has the big transistor on top and surely some others inside.

Good luck.
Air support's nice but cutting the breaks, and when possible, back firing is where most of the control comes from.
Lower winds will be a big help.

Be safe.

Well, one good thing this morning. After sitting through the night the mower fired right up.
It was just teelling you the grass was too wet to cut yesterday.:poke:
