Stop in for a cup of coffee

Just wait until you try to cut up that mulberry for fire wood one day. There is a reason they call that stuff “iron wood”.

Really easy to split though...just hard to cross cut.
Actually I have cut and burned a few of them from the back corner. Used to be several in the fence row. Nothing a sharp chain can't take care of.

Fuel line untouched from factory. 66 383

If it's anywhere near the house, cut it down! Very destructive roots on them.
Nope. Closest mulberry is at least a couple hundred feet away. Not that any tree roots can't be destructive. Had a large old Maple removed a while back cause it was only a few feet from my garage. Was already f'n up the sidewalk and concrete driveway.

66 satelite but the fuel line would be the same, or am I wrong?
Dunno.

Did they use the same carb?

Craig wrote that the '67 parts book basically tells the techs to make a new one themselves if for some reason they need replacing. I assume that's for both sections.

On your car heater hose clamps have been changed. Clearly there was some regular maintanence. So yea I gues the filter change would be expected.
I guess what surprises me is the filter location. There was a bulletin or master tech about locating the filter vertical. I thought it was early 60s. lemme look.

I got a 40ish foot mulberry in the yard next to my shed. Roots have raised its foundation about 10 inches. And they're headed for my house! It gets cut down this winter. Almost sacrilege to cut down any tree here, but it must be done.

Red mullberry?
I love big trees. But that was the first big thing I had done after I bought the house. Had thered mulberry cut down. Couldn't keep it off the house. I'd have to trim it several times each year. Tough wood. resists rot.

Also had the chinese paper mulberries in the back neighbor's yard cut down. They're one of the worst weed trees around here.

Not the same as 67 or 68. Here is a pic of the 67 383 Barracuda that John sent me. 68 is basically the same.
I guess my car came to me with a different MOPAR intake, air cleaner base, and Edlebrock carb. Someone homemade a fuel line to fit.
Without anything to compare it to, I didn't realize what I had was wrong which caused some confusion.
What I had purchased will work. I'll put it on tomorrow.

Mulberry? those are scrub trees here. They produce fruit that the birds eat and poop all over your car. :BangHead::BangHead:

Amazing what 31 tons of unrelenting force can do. Only stalled it once on a knot in one of the big pieces. Otherwise it either split or cut its way through. Got all the big ones in smaller chunks and dropped it back to horizontal. I had enough for today. Probably be all done with one more good run.

Not sure what variety it might be. Drops a ****-ton of nasty crapberries every summer. Base is about 24 inches across. Gonna be fun to drop it without damaging my house or the neighbors..

My 64 had steel all the way to the carb as well. No rubber at all. Makes me wonder if mine is correct...

And the previous owner did send me the original intake for the car. Its now back on the car.
I later found an air cleaner base to fit the Carter carburetor I located.
All is good!!
