Stop in for a cup of coffee

Good gawd, I learned one thing this weekend, the Marines must not teach people to shoot for **** anymore.

Both brothers were/are Marines. Both took multiple shots at bucks this weekend.

Brother 1: shot 3 times at one at 75 yards hit it once in the ***. Took me two hours and 1.5 miles from where it was shot to find it...

Brother 2: shot 4 times at one, 50 ft away, no good blood trail, 3 hours, can’t find it and have up

Mulberry? those are scrub trees here
Not sure what variety it might be. Drops a ****-ton of nasty crapberries every summer.
If the berries are red and edible, that's red mulberry.
I think the white variety may be something imported when we (especially NJ) thought silkworms could have a future here.
The paper mulburries have a large fruit with orange dots. Late in the summer they drop and get covered in gray mold...
Pretty much no redeeming qualities except maybe if you're desperate for erosion control - maybe.

And the previous owner did send me the original intake for the car. Its now back on the car.
I later found a air cleaner base to fit the Carter carburetor I finally was able to find.
All is good!!
Small base Carter. That was a tough find!

Hydraulic flaring tool is nice. Its on my wish list.
New kit up here is like 5 bills. more if i want nap-on.

Missed one on the buy and sell a while back.

That sucks.
Of course you do realize that a deer silioute is not normally what is used at Paris Island.:poke:

That’s what I thought too. Steel housing filter installed vertically just above the fuel pump.

A remember seeing a lot of adaptations later where the rubber line was connected there and the filter was put above horizontally closer to the carb for ease of replacement.

As I recall, the original filter was placed low vertically in front of the engine so that the heat from the engine and exhaust manifolds wouldn’t cause the fuel to boil inside the metal filter canister.

Placing it upfront also allowed the fan to cool the housing and being below the rising heat kept it from getting too hot.

Red mullberry?
I love big trees. But that was the first big thing I had done after I bought the house. Had thered mulberry cut down. Couldn't keep it off the house. I'd have to trim it several times each year. Tough wood. resists rot.

Also had the chinese paper mulberries in the back neighbor's yard cut down. They're one of the worst weed trees around here.
I don’t know. The berries are near black and quite tasty. If you can get them before a flock of birds gets to them. Roots or not, i wouldn't want them anywhere near the house or cars

I used to be a good shot with a gun and archery until I got glasses. Since then not worth a poop.

Small base Carter. That was a tough find!
Actually with John's help at Carlisle, I found the right 4 1/4" opening base in a larger size for $10.00.
I took it home bead blasted it, measured it, and then cut it down to the right size.
Right look and perfect fit.

The non-hydaulic Imperial kit seemed fine for the amount I use (or dont use) it.
And after buying the Parker kit, I don't think I've used it yet...

Wasn’t used at Ft Leonardwood either and I still hit lol. A couple years ago, the one unloaded 44 shots at deer in 2 days, zero hits:BangHead:

They used plastic as well....

Dang Chinese are slow shippers.

Ordered on November 2 and they will be here in almost exactly one month from the order date.

The common ones are made by Mastercool. Sold dozens of them on the truck.

I'm happy to eat the red or white mulberries.
Used to pick 'em along the tracks in NJ when I was a kid.
That was the good thing about having the branches up against the house - easy to pick. LOL

@krazykuda
Hey Karl are you going to the MCACN show next weekend at Rosemont??
We'll be there with the Barracuda.
Inquiring minds want to know. I talked to the wife today and she is ok with me going. I might cruise over by myself. You never know.
