Stop in for a cup of coffee

Most of the job postings that I see for drafting/designer are looking for Solidworks software... My local Comm College doesn't offer that here, so I checked out the jr college in Joliet which teaches that software... Last time I looked at their courses the class was taught on mid weekdays at night while I'm at work...

I found yesterday that they have a class on Fri nights this coming semester, which fits my work schedule and there was one opening left... They gave me the email for the counselor that I needed to sign off for me to get the class and I mailed him yesterday and he signed off for me and I got the last opening for the class...

Now I have to go to my local comm college here Monday to see if they can give me a co-op waiver since they don't offer that class and I can get a break on the tuition at the other college, roughly 1/3rd of the out of district tuition... Then I will be locked into the class for sure on Monday... :D

First cup is almost history!!

speaking of history....

I was watching a youtube video on Hitler jokes... Gilbert Godfrey had one:

"I read somewhere that Hitler had a grandson who was a convicted child molester....

Imagine being the embarrassment to the Hitler family....

Is there anything worse than being the Hitler that the other Hitlers don't talk about...."

That would be pretty bad to bring more shame to the Hitler family than Adolf did.... :wtf:

Super cool! You will really like Solid works. It was/is a game changer for 3D. Auto Cad has been trying to catch up for years. It took awhile for a Solid Works to gain a foot hold in industry as Auto Cad was so firmly entrenched but once it did it was a dramatic improvement.

scary what it can do. I just have to figure out where to put it might have to sell the radial arm saw to fit it in the shop where I can use it.

You could always build another shop so you don't have to get rid of anything.... :D

I have a certificate in Inventor 3D CAD which is the one that Autodesk who makes AutoCAD has, but not many companies use that one... Solidworks is very popular in the job postings, like 80% or more...

Me too... I learned on drawing boards....

I took a drafting class in jr high and high school... I was at the top of my classes in drafting...

I finished all the course work two weeks early in jr high and me and the guy next to me got to do a house floor plan... He wanted to be an architect...

Then in high school I took another drafting course in freshman year and was also on the top of the class... The teacher took me and another classmate to compete in a local drafting competition here and we both came in third... The top three places got to go compete down state... However we didn't even place in the state competition, but it was a good learning opportunity... That was the first time that our teacher had students compete in state competition.... We didn't practice at all for the state competition, just went down to see what we could do...

Then I had a drafting class in college... One of our projects was to draw a scale thread... The spiral was very complicated to draw by hand accurately... But I did like the experience...

Yep, the good old drawing board, T-squares, triangles, and drafting pencils 2H and 4H....

6 more days and I'll be watching Dirt Late Models at Arizona Speedway. I just hope that somehow CK Presents the promoter of the event avoids his rain attracting aura and they get the shows in. He got me rained out last year :BangHead:

Good Morning
Slept till 11... Really needed that. Been coughing for a week and a half now. Wearing me out. Still not done, but getting better. I think the river of slime from back of sinus is almost done.

Good morning all. Off to the boneyard for a Corvair steering box and pitman arm for my boys car.

I used to have a lot of sinus draining problems. It seems like fewer colds and sinus issues since the flu shots. I also take Zyrtec which works well.

Two years here, Purdue School of Engineering and Technology Indianapolis. I loved the Drafting, I just had a time with some of the advanced math, I am more of a tactile learner..... Then I ran out of money, and never finished my degree.....Another lifetime ago it seems.....

I went to urgent care day after Christmas when this started. Also my wife was at doc the other day and asked about antibiotic. Both said no fever, no antibiotic. The first one told me they were seeing a lot of same symptoms and lasts about a week. She would have given me an antibiotic, but said it was not making any difference for most. Family DR told the wife he has same symptoms.
Nyquil, Dayquil, Robitussin. cough drops...Just keeping my breathing as clear as possible and working through it. Speaking of..almost time to get ready for work.
