Got my flu shot. This aint the flu...

I went to urgent care day after Christmas when this started. Also my wife was at doc the other day and asked about antibiotic. Both said no fever, no antibiotic. The first one told me they were seeing a lot of same symptoms and lasts about a week. She would have given me an antibiotic, but said it was not making any difference for most. Family DR told the wife he has same symptoms.
Nyquil, Dayquil, Robitussin. cough drops...Just keeping my breathing as clear as possible and working through it. Speaking of..almost time to get ready for work.

Take care of yourselves...

Cut it off, started removing front hangers. Once they are off, will build new ones, and havent decided whether to bolt or weld them back onto frame.

Safely at Home...Now for the next step.....

Most of the job postings that I see for drafting/designer are looking for Solidworks software... My local Comm College doesn't offer that here, so I checked out the jr college in Joliet which teaches that software... Last time I looked at their courses the class was taught on mid weekdays at night while I'm at work...

I found yesterday that they have a class on Fri nights this coming semester, which fits my work schedule and there was one opening left... They gave me the email for the counselor that I needed to sign off for me to get the class and I mailed him yesterday and he signed off for me and I got the last opening for the class...

Now I have to go to my local comm college here Monday to see if they can give me a co-op waiver since they don't offer that class and I can get a break on the tuition at the other college, roughly 1/3rd of the out of district tuition... Then I will be locked into the class for sure on Monday... :D
I like solid works. My brother has taken classes on that program as well. Just wish my copy would run on my laptop.

I have a certificate in Inventor 3D CAD which is the one that Autodesk who makes AutoCAD has, but not many companies use that one... Solidworks is very popular in the job postings, like 80% or more...
Yes, I think so. But will know when I reassemble......After Paint, of course....
I bet that is bittersweet, I am at that point as well with my Demon. I did see a pix which I posted that looks like I got some green sprayed on it. Beyond that I don’t know. If I have to bring it home 1/2 done I will. Deadline is fast approaching.

Morning? Just got up again. Think I got the crud also! Well the car at least looks like a car Mitch!

congrats!

I’m a CAD Designer. I’ve climbed that ladder quickly. Started out as a CAD tech in 2015. Most CAD designers are a 8-10 year level.

FYI: you don’t need a class or a Cert. I self taught myself Solidworks, Creo, Autocad and Solidedge as well as Inventor. Took me about 2 years to learn all those, but you can learn each in about 2-3 months proficient enough to pass the modeling tests most business require you too during the hiring process. With you going to school for it, you’ll have no problem at all.

let me know if I can help you any. If I can learn it, anyone can. Oh, and FYI, Drafters are in extremely high demand.

If you get stuck, shoot me a text and we’ll sit down a time to go over it if needed.

Two years here, Purdue School of Engineering and Technology Indianapolis. I loved the Drafting, I just had a time with some of the advanced math, I am more of a tactile learner..... Then I ran out of money, and never finished my degree.....Another lifetime ago it seems.....
That’s what is so stupid about the college courses. At most, you’ll use high school level algebra in the real world. We hire these kids fresh out of Purdue and others all the time. They can do math but they can’t read a micrometer or a tape measure or understand fractions to decimal conversions. And that’s most don’t even have a mechanical understanding worth a damn either.
