I remember when Computer controls were coming out, "O no there goes the Hot rod" Jeezz. just the opposite, To hop up a car, just load a new tune!!!! Especially with forced induction!!!
I used to get tuned up in the 70's. Does that count? LOL
Cops have tuned me up a few times......Seem like I would have learned the first "tune up" Nope.....

Computer control of engine parameters is nothing more that an expert tuner on a chip...x10.
It just gives greater, faster and better ability to continually tune across all ranges of operation for maximum performance.
If the hot rodders and racers of the 1960s and 70s had that tool in their hands, you can be damn sure they would have used it!

the tune on my VW has benefited from the Diesel gate recall/buyback. As part of the new smog approved tune, they loosened the parameters a little, meaning the aftermarket has more wiggle room to work with and still stay check engine light proof. Never comes on with tune...Which a good tune designed to defeat them can obviously get around.

Home a little late. Had a few inches of white to clear off the car at work. Not snowing now. Roads conditions varied quite a bit from clean to quite messy in a few areas. Took it slow driving and didnt have any problems. Looks like we got about 5” at the house
I promised a update with this old 51 Chevy truck I'm buildin on the 95 S10 chassis. Here it is. I'll let it speak for "itself". LOL

Yeah they can get stupid have to stay to your limits. Man there is a ton of good deals around on tempest today. Have to see what I can swing. Going to bid on some grinders today and if I hit my cap that's all the car money.
Pretty sure my shops air compressor is just about done taking way to long to fill up. Really cant complain got ten years out of it a HF one also. Never thought it would last this long actually.
