8 hours is about all I want to tolerate anymore. 5-6 is ok. Used to drive 12-15 as a limit...but those days are gone.

It’s not that I can’t...it’s more that I don’t want to, and have no reason push that hard anymore.

Probably has something to do with being able to afford a nice bed in a hotel when I want one.

When my carpal tunnel was bad, i couldnt drive an hour and hands would be numb. 6 years as a gov’t mechanic it cured itself. Very little work with air tools. Now at home, i control the pace, its still not coming back. But the joints ache now.
56 this year, its bound to happen.

I turn 60 in a few weeks....Danm I'm old!!!!

Only race i ever went to was in Benito,MB. 5 or 6 races, dirt track and all the same cars with different drivers. Was fun. thats the town my Fargo came from.

I think the track that really got me hooked on dirt ovals was Speedway 117 out east of Chula Vista by Brown Field. I saw an open comp Late Model show out there. Big wings, Big side boards, 14" tires. The Late Model wings were leaving little vapor trails behind them  I was hooked.

My SIL lives by Brown field, didn't know there was a track out there, just the airfield.

I think it closed in the late 80s. You know San Diego County any ground that's not a vertical slope, build something on it and double the going sale price for it. :BangHead:

They bought a house east of I-5 near San Ysidro but I think it's Chula Vista. Anyway, it was a corner lot and their equity started soaring immediately. I used to ride the train down there when I was stationed at 32nd st. (Geographic bachelor).

I was down there in '78 doing a flood control job in the Tijuana River. Quite an interesting experience for a 21 yr old apprentice :realcrazy:

Crappy weather here. Cold mist all day. At least its well above freezing, but almost no visibility at times for the ride home tonight. At one point I can usually see a gas station just after the crest of a hill. I mean this place is big and well lit. Couldn't see it till I was near on top of it.
