I was well trained in infectious disease protocols back then. We were where all the bodily fluids of the entire community were concentrated. At any time we were exposed to them all in the air, on surfaces and in the mist around us. It was the late 80s and the stuff included the following:
AIDS virus
Influenza
Common cold
Cholera
Typhoid
Hepatitis B and C
E coli
Lysteria
STDs (all that you can think of)
And God knows what else.
We were professionals and were trained to protect ourselves and others. That’s why I say emphatically, the first rule is WASH YOUR HANDS!

I live about 1.5 as the crow flies from the edge of I65. Normally, you can hear the traffic and see the light up in the night sky from that direction. Dark as hell and no noise. Been here 7 years and never has it been like that, even in a blizzard. And it’s not closed due to accident, or anything. Just no one movingWell, just got back from picking up the mail. You know what I found out? All you need to solve your traffic problems is a nice Pandemic! See. The silver lining...

Managers came in for an emergency pow-wow. Apparently they made some calls...
Then called us all in to meetings (10 people at a time). I guess we make enough labels for particular products, that we are still in business for now.

There are a few that still hang together on breaks and stuff. I am not afraid to tell someone to back off when too close. Actually laid a tape measure out to 6ft on the floor in front of one guy earlier tonight...But I am a lot less ‘on edge’ in here vs say the grocery store. Plus if someone at work gets it, at least I know who I am around in here. I have no clue who I might have been exposed to in a store.
