Stop in for a cup of coffee

Got a somewhat funny story. I lost the thumbdrive I had in my Laptop somehow. Then I remembered the other day I pulled it out to hook up printer cable. That was two days ago. Going nuts trying to remember and figure what I did. Looked everywhere in my office where I pulled it. Then thought maybe I put it in my pocket. Thank God hadn't done laundry yet. So go look through the laundry basket, No go. Now Im looking everywhere in my house for it. No go. Then I remember I went to the grocery store early Thursday. Thinking when I was there or in the parking lot, I mistakenly pulled it out of a pocket, getting my glasses or keys, since I was wearing latex gloves...Now Im really stressing. I call the grocery store and ask if anyone saw it. No. So I think maybe it came out of the pocket in their parking lot. So I go out and start the car, and move up the hill, bout 8 ft. Don't know why I looked in the rear mirror, but I think I see something lying on the driveway among the leaves. Sure enough, there it is. Must have come out of my pocket when I got in or out of the car Thurs. morning. Hallelujah, right ?So I bring it into the shop and plug it in, Nothing, Pull it, and is hot where it plugs in. Now im thinking, did it rain in the past two days, Yup... Or did I run over it ? Doesn't look like I ran it over. Called my young computer Wizard. He says, Mitch, if it got wet, put it in a bag of rice for a few days, see if it works...He says he's washed them in laundry before, and dried them out. Im like, ok great I got some rice. So now its in the rice. Here's the part you all will Howl over. The thumbdrive has all my Viet Nam **** on it. you know...pics and videos...LOL
So... A. Im happy nobody else found it and looked in it....And B. I sure hope it dries out, so I can see it again. I'm here alone ya know..LOL.:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

Wow, 2 days off. What shall I do?...
Guess i will put some pressure on my water tank and see if I can get the capacity back as Tike suggested. Also want to check my water level in the well with pump running. I did find my measurments I took in 2008 when I changed the foot valve. Well is 55ft deep Foot valve 43ft down with static water depth of 35ft. But I never checked the level with the pump running. Thats what you are supposed to use for sizing pump. I'm sure the 1/2hp is fine. Been that way for 30some years. But considering going to 3/4 if I change the whole thing.
I also have the grommets for the Duster shift linkage. Ionly got 2 of one part #. They give 2 diff #s in parts book, confusing what is correct or even how they are different.
One bit done. Got down in the pit and opened well cap and checked water depth. Approx 8.5 ft. I had 8 written down. Ran water to keep pump running. Could see level drop pretty quick. Was about 12ft after a minute or so. Only dropped a little more after that. 5min in it was holding at 12'8" from cap. So that is my active pump depth. Pump in house might be 3ft higher. So calling it 16ft. That's within reach as a shallow jet pump and I run a 1/2hp convertible with ejector in the well. Just need to decide if a higher HP would be better. @dartnabout - no I didn't pump the tank full of air yet.

I may have to put together a thumb drive of my own! Could be fun.. Just have to make damn sure nobody else finds it!

Needs a pretty good air supply. I have plasma, but rarely use it.
Its not well suited for cutting sheet metal in my opinion, high quality cutoff wheels last longer and leave a better edge.
And i cant stand the awful smoke in the shop. dealing with the dross, still needs another step to clean up. Not to mention the blast of fire out the backside.

Great for 1/8” and heavier stuff...
Then that settles that

Exactly....I was freaking out pretty good for a while, till I found it... Ehhh. If it never works again, I can always make new ****, Right ????

Geesh!~ :BangHead::BangHead: OK CHRIS! I mean Keith

Well.....I guess that was pretty harsh but....

Your set up is good to 80' BUT it will still draw up to 150' depth. After 80 I would go 3/4 hp.

:rofl: That needs to go in the safe!

Damn I wish my wife would go to the office. She keeps procrastinating about it. If this is how it's going to be when she retires I'm moving in with Ben or Mitch!

Pulling transmission out took 20 minutes. Been scraping the crud off ever since. Someone had the top cover off at some point, left 1 bolt out. Explains why it was oil soaked. Still have to pull front support and reseal the gasket.
Moving forward ever so slowly.

Forward is good! Slowly forward usually means you're not skipping important steps.
