Git er done
I'm gonna drill and check all the trim mounting holes. Emblems and such, since the car has a lot of new sheet metal on it, lot of the holes are gone...Obviously dont want to do that after paint....Got a week or so to do it. I think he takes it next week...

Going to be a real nice car.....I always wanted a 383 GTS.

:soapbox:PA 'regions' can reopen when they are below 50 cases per 100K. York county has 61?100K now but Lebanon is still way high. I can't remember the last time I went to Lebanon. I don't know anyone from Lebanon. Now in reality we probably should have been grouped with Lancaster -which is also very high. Both us and Lebanon have far more interaction with Lancaster than we do with each other. Of course Lancaster also has a lot of interaction with Philly. In fact York has more interaction with Baltimore than any city in PA. Yet I have no idea what their stats are because our news never mentions it, and it has no bearing on when things will reopen here.

Hurry up and wait. Wait and hurry up. Hurry up and wait...

IMO they should not rush it.......I realize people will get antsy on the first, with bills showing up and no pay check...

I mean, even willing to pay 10 grand for paint, no one wants to do it! CRAZY!!!
Actually I had another, younger guy look at it a few weeks ago, He called me 3 days ago and said 10-15...I was like WTF ??? Then I got lucky and found Tommy again. He aint a ton cheaper tho....7k

Why do you think I do it myself? Still learning, BUT I am to the point the finished product is OK. I have painted lots of cars.....It is really in the prep, and cut and buff process....IMO. AND kind of paint being sprayed.....

I agree. Problem is in opening up slow, someone says "You can open and you can't" The guy that can't open is seeing 'less important' stuff opening and getting pissed he is losing business. In some cases, your competition could be allowed to open because of one aspect of their business is different than yours. I think a lot of small businesses could be open as they have less workers and less customers equals less risk. Plus they are the ones who are more likely to lose everything if this continues.

Thinking about that a minute longer and a big :wtf:.... A 5K RANGE on the price? Isn't the car basically done. Just needs sprayed? How can he not hit a price within maybe 500 bucks?

I would learn and do myself, but I really dont like the mess it makes. Maybe if I had a separate room/booth.....

Yeah, same thing I was thinking. I really pressed the young guy, since I thought he was my only choice. I think he was just trying to blow me off with a high price....Well...he succeeded..... LOL....Car does need the driver quarter welded in a few small spots, and lip of wheel well rolled. Other side is done. Then, since a new body guy, Im sure he'll want to go over all the work done, and sand and block, and align panels to his liking. So Im sure lots of time involved. Tommy is 20mins away from me, and he knows i will be there maybe twice a week to look. Also told him I will pay him weekly, according to his work done. He's an older guy, and probably doesnt make 3k a month. I told him , this can be a windfall for him, if he stays on it every day and gets it done quick. He aint got much to do...But then, that George also, right ????
