Stop in for a cup of coffee

I never saw the appeal of those really old cars, they look hard to drive and extremely unsafe, but they do look cool in movies.

I really wish drag racing and car culture from the 60s would come back.

To me the 60s were the defining moments and glory years of man kind.

Man kind has really fallen at the hands of Asian efficiency engineers who have brainwashed youth into thinking that doing doughnuts and racing a Nissan in a parking garage is cool....... it's NOT.

Drag racing is the capstone of automotive engineering in the purest American form.

And even at 93 years old, my 1927 Ford rat rod has thicker steel than new cars - but yes, I will likely die in an accident. It does have aluminum Ansen slots on it now....rain or shine or even snow and 0 degree temps...

If I had huge money, I'd start an auto salvage industry in India.

It's pretty much how it was here in the 50s when people used to abandon wrecks In place and the salvage business was not fully developed.

I'd buy about 20 acres and import 4 or five rollbacks and a few boom wreckers from here and start roaming the streets picking up wrecks and abandoned rides from the streets.

Also buy the political support to make a monopoly with it.

Yup. But my thought is, Fly back and forth, ( after Covid ) and see check cars, rich Viets want to buy, so they are not taken advantage of. Pretty sure there is a market for that.. Win-Win. Travel and check old cars, give my expertise, have fun , and make some nice commission....

Open up an american muscle car parts supply. Wonder it it would fly?

Skies cleared and the temps skyrocketed about noon. So I planted 48 plants so far in the garden, about half way done.
I just do a couple of this, and a couple of that. Just enough for some fresh from the garden stuff now and then. Not putting away much of anything.

i did 4 each of tomatoes, sweet peppers, cucumbers, lettuce, cabbage, broccoli watermelon, honeymelon, squash, spaghetti squash, kale, chilli peppers, habernoe peppers, banana peppers, plus green beans and sweet corn

I have a special place in my heart for old Impalas. My Dad had many of them over the years when I was growing up. 1960 wagon, 1966 wagon, 1974 wagon and a 1980 sedan. I had a 1966 sedan that I drove during my Senior year in High School. I think I paid $150 for it in 1980.

Not of that car, but here is a hard top I had later when I was starting my auto upholstery business. I redid the interior and replaced the vinyl top so I could use it as a rolling showcase of what I could do to sell myself to new customers. It was also the first car I did all the body work on and painted myself.

Here is my Dad’s 1974 wagon with the clam-shell tailgate. I got this as a hand-me-down to drive during my Junior year in high school. All pea soup green...

Anyone talk with Craig and Cheryl since Tuesday AM?
Not that he has to sign in every day, but I sent him a PM and those usually generate an e-mail notification.
So just hope they are OK.

That's pretty cool. Nice picture too. We rarely took pictures of our cars, or even with our cars. Wish we did.
How many friends could you pack in that car? Not that you ever would have done such a thing.
