Yes BUT will he get to it, this century??? I hope so, that is a cool car...Always wanted a 383 Dart. My friend had one and we raced it against my 426 wedge 64 sport fury. Got my *** owned......Power to weight is great....

I have a hydraulic leak on the differential/transmission of my JD 445. Hope I can get to it without pulling the diff...:BangHead::BangHead:
thats always fun. Check around the neutral safety switch, that's where almost all of our John Deeres leak from at some point or another.

Ask him which end the distributor is on and where the valve cover hold down bolts are. If he says the spark plug wires go into the valve covers  .. Get your butt over there

already did, distributor on the front, no spark plugs in the valve covers. I'm guessing 383, which was pretty common in that year/model.

Even if it's a 361 they run too. Friend had one in a Fury, he put a $20 on the dash board, " If you can reach it, it's yours." then he'd nail it. Dave never lost a $20

im actually hoping its a 383 to be honest. 361 i can dress as a 383 if i needed too

biggest thing is it has to be nearly 100 percent rust free, if not, its a no go.

I just had a thought. Rare, I know . From the stories I hear of paint and body shops. it's no small wonder Rat Rods are so popular now.
I agree. Thats what i intend on doing from now on. At least while my body shop buddy is still in business, he will help me out with paint on barracuda.

i think people are just tired of paying huge prices and waiting years to enjoy a car while its being restored.

Mom and Dad had a '57 Ranch Wagon. We were living in @Mopar Tim 's neighborhood. The 10 year old factory paint was pretty ragged. Dad found a paint shop in Tijuana Mexico through one of his co-workers. Took the wagon down there Friday evening, picked it up Sunday afternoon . The paint was so green by the time we it got home the paint in the little valley behind the tail fins looked like the surf at Moonlight Beach .

So here is a quick non political very family oriented view. As many on here know our boy is an active full time Police Officer. And as I work for a firearms training company I am intertwined with many LEOs (law enforcement officers). We compete in matches Together, we travel together, share hotel rooms, and keep each other safe at all times when standing in the presence of a dozen armed individuals that we don’t know who come to our classes to learn how to shoot fast and accurately. We all have husbands, wives, funerals and births everyday. The part the media is not showing is these very same people including our son are working incredible long hours and are going to the ER a couple times a week during their shift or at the end of it to get patched up for the cuts bites or results of whatever Projectile they got hit with during shift, from bricks to water bottles, not counting the wrenched backs knees and arms from tussling all shift. All the while maintaining their posture poise and professionalism. These guys are exhausted and have little gas in the tank as they watch business owner after business owner approach the mob with food and water to support them in a vain effort not to get burnt out. One of my best buddies had to get hard core patched up again this week, my boy is expecting the birth of his child in about ten days and is juggling moving into his first purchased home with the help of his VA loan. During the emotional chaos all that brings he is pulling 16 hour shifts rinsing and repeating. Are all the LEOs perfect, absolutely not. But the great majority just like every one of us mask their personal views on a daily basis and go to work and be professional and get the job done. Rant over.
Thought you'ld like to know some shop owners appreciate the work.

Getting at it now... The diff/trans has a leak on the right side. But they have thing wedged tight between the frame rails. Gotta figure a way to get at that seal...

Got the Neon In the garage and up on ramps earlier. Dropping the tank looks easy enough. Not sure how I will drain it though. I think it’s a little under half full, 5-7gallons Chiltons says there is a drain, but not seeing it. Maybe a drill pump with a piece of tubing down the filler...
