Stop in for a cup of coffee

Looks good! If you were closer, we could replace the top with a dark blue one and you would be triple blue!
Someday I will need a new top and some repair underneath. I have a few bubbles. Not bad for a 40 year old Iowa car. It's a wonder it's not part of a John Deere tractor by now.

Well, it must be female because it’s lying about its age. It’s 50!

Since Oceano Dunes ORV Park is still closed, I wonder what all those complainers in the village that neighbors it are blaming the dust filling there houses on besides the ORVs? Oh wait! It's Mother Nature doing it today. They won't say a single word about it.

Not much progress on the neon today since the fuel pump didn’t show up. I did get some new push-nuts and put the shields back on the tank.

After exposing the big ant nest under the ornamental rock pile next to the driveway earlier this week and letting the rains and time settle them back down, today I fed them their last supper of Andro granules. I have already seen them picking at them and even carrying whole granules back down their tunnels. They have no idea what is about to happen to them.

For scale, that big rock at the top of the first pic is about the size of a complete big block engine...and that’s just the part above ground.

Dang brisket is taking it's time, over 12 hours hmmm.... Hoping I don't have to oven finish it cause I don't want to turn on another burner/direct heat. I think sometimes the temp remains constant for a while, then shoots up.

Sun almost came out for a minute. Steaks on the BBQ!
Then a dump run.
Was going to close for a couple days, but i have an engine swap after i get T-Bird out of my hair.
Or Mitch would say- off his scalp!
Looking forward to seeing the taillights on that one.
No scalp ( on purpose ) can be a very good thing.... Lol.

What's the internal temp now. That was a dandy sized brisket? Wrapped now?

Yes I wrapped it after 2 boxes of hickory got it smoked. Internal is 170 ish. I also have a grill top that says temp is at 250 but I think that might be because it's closer to the end that the burners on. Holy crap do I want a smoker! Trager, home built, don't care : )

170° is medium well for beef isn't it?

It is but I don't think brisket works that way. Almost everything I've read and the few times it came out right, it was removed at 202 degrees. I've also seen remove at 190 degrees because of the rest time, temp goes up as you know. I've started the oven, may oven finish it, stable 225 degrees and it shouldn't taste any or much different.

If the brisket was smaller like I wanted, I could have placed it in the middle of the grill and had both end burners going and likely would have had to turn them down a bit. With the size of the brisket I could only run one, full bore and I think my surface temp and grill cover temp gauge are lying to me a bit.
