Stop in for a cup of coffee

I have a couple of plastic 55 gal drums, I pump to from my oil drain device. There is an oil recycling co that comes and picks up the used oil for free, when I call them....
Was actually just thinking about that... Neon needs oil changed and my 2 buckets are near full. Have not dumped any for quite a while Usually take it to Autozone. They have a tank in back room. I have a couple other places I have used in past. It's a little drive, but I know a gas station that uses it for their heating system- as long as they are not over capacity this time of year not burning it. Also a farm down the road had a drop off, but then I lose my buckets. Usually put in old jugs for them, but didn't save the last few.

Having a few problems with my roofing salesman. When we discover more work that needs to be done he isn't offering to help. I thought he was the General Contractor not me. Find someone to fix the problem or tell me why they can't so I can. The chimney needs repairs and now is the time to do it while there is no roof on one side. Same with rotted fascia boards that are nailed into the roof deck. You cover it up with new roof and the boards can't be replaced without taking the roof apart. I think I need to get upper management involved.
That sounds like some :bs_flag:. Any decent roofer should KNOW there WILL be issues. It should have been discussed up front how those would be handled. My 'salesman' was the roofing contractor. So there was no question who was doing the job and it was clear that they could take care of anything they found, how much was included and at what point that would be 'extra'

I am not having that warm and fuzzy feeling here. The salesman seems to know nothing about roofing or construction. I know enough to be dangerous. That's why I hired them.

Does he work for the roofing manufacturer? Who gets your money? That is who needs to solve the problems. Unless you hired the contractor and paid for materials separately. Then you would need to deal with contractor directly. Either way, a competent contractor should be able to fix it, but it might be an upcharge.

Just got a call from John, my salesman. He and one of the owners will be here in an hour to discuss. My wife wants to be here as well. Best that she is to keep me in line and ask questions I wouldn't think of.

The contractor bought the materials. I deal with them directly. See my last post. Our issues are rotted wood fascia, fly rafters, and Cornice brackets that they just want to cover in metal without any rotted wood repair first. We put the brakes on that part of the repair because they weren't interested in repairing before covering. The exposed rafters on the garage need replaced and must be done before the roof is installed. They are attached to the underside of the roof decking. I asked a few times about the metal covering procedure and the best answer is that it comes off a coil and is hand bent under the exposed rafters. It didn't sound like a quality job to me. He needed to get his framers and metal workers out here to look at what needs done and make a plan. Show me how it is done and will look before I spend thousands to do it.

Yeh thats a bit ugly. More than I would want to just cover up. Not sure if any of that poses a structural problem. Doesn’t mean you have to tear the thing apart and rebuild, but At very least I would want to stop the rot and be sure its closed up. Those rotted fibers act like a sponge. Hold moisture and allow damage to continue getting worse. In some cases it can be cleaned out and repaired with epoxy. Splice pieces in etc. @Mattax does some of this kind of repairs - may have suggestions...

Well, in WI our wonderful Governor mandated everyone to wear masks anytime in a public building....so, now I have to wear one all day at work. Got here at 5:30....sick of it by 5:31

Have a couple packages I'm tracking on their way in.

I have some packages coming and the first batch was supposed to arrive Saturday by USPS... They are delayed because of the Trump slowing down the post office to protest mail-in ballots... :icon_fU:

Hopefully the first shipment will arrive today....
