Sneaky Pete. Made by Lisle Tools Clarinda, IowaI replaced a rope seal on a rear main with the engine still in the car... Used that bird cage thing to pull it through and then trim the edges...
It's much easier to do with the engine on a stand...
Yup, that's the one I have.Sneaky Pete. Made by Lisle Tools Clarinda, Iowa
No rods installed, well not torqued anyway, new arp studs have just 1 cycle on them, torqued to measure clearances, then loosened, crank installed, then retorquedIf no rods installed, I would just remove the crank, and install the seal......IMO...
Is a billet retainer needed or is factory okay?If no rods installed, I would just remove the crank, and install the seal......IMO...
Stock for rope seal.....that is how they were built....Is a billet retainer needed or is factory okay?

Yeah done figured that out now hahaIt's the tool with the "loops" at the end that grabs the rope seal like a chinese finger puzzle and then you pull it through....
Hell, I think they make me do 14 more days in Viet Nam.....At least thats good news, the flight. Man I would have gone nuts by now.
