Sorry to hear. Was just talking to one of our press operators about this the other night. Not a big amputation risk, but printing presses are just loaded with nip points. Rollers will easily pull in anything that gets in and it never ends well. I frequently make up guards for any possible place we can put one or replace any that are not 100%.
we've had a couple finger tip incidents since I've been there (just flesh from what I heard). Worst roller accidents I know at our site were years prior. Someone got 'sleeved' and someone got hair caught and it took a piece of scalp off.For years and years I guarded for "incidental contact". Then FedOSHA and MSHA have this revelation that "some" people disregard the safety guards and reach into places they really shouldn't reach into, many times the guards becoming an additional hazard . A simple little guard for a 4"x30" roller becomes an 8'x 3' monstrosity so an arm can't get to a pinch point . I had a take off my glove to see if my fingers were still attached incident, completely surprised me and the machine operator. The ride to the ER with my boss driving was the really scarey part .
Seen a guy get his long hair in a fan belt, while engine was running, NOT a pretty sight....we've had a couple finger tip incidents since I've been there (just flesh from what I heard). So, it ever asked if the airbags were ever deployed, meaning in essence , was car ever in a bad accident, you can legally say "no". In California that question has to be answered when ever you are selling a car....Or trying to get it insured full coverage...No, my recollections are , they did not deploy....
Some people are lacking said ‘device’. Some of us just don’t use it every time.Common sense is our best safety device

Yes. And impossible to get financed or full coverage insurance because of that...Air bag deployment ends in a "salvage Title" doesn't it?
The last one I called to pull the wife's Stinger out of the ditch (wasn't doing that one myself). I ended up pulling the tow truck out of the ditch with my Suburban (snow and hill). Then he figured out he brought the wrong truck, went back, brought another out. At least he didn't screw up the front end of the Kia, it sits low, esp. in the ditch lol! Last time driving that car in winter with summer tires, AWD or not!

You sometimes know the common sense switch is being turned off if you hear the words “Hold my beer”
Not My car and not my tow driver. But this guy was hilarious. Tried to pull this 2010 Benz up on the flatbed, while parked uphill in my driveway. Didnt hook it correctly, bout half way up, his hooks came off, and away it went backwards down my driveway, Luckily no cars or anything of mine was in the way. The BIG tree at the end of the driveway collected the Benz, and properly totaled said Benz. LOL,LOL,LOL.
