Did you replace the ignition switch and wiring? Blue IGN wire is usually the culprit if old. All my blue wire does now is trigger a relay.
It is the original. I will put in a relay.....The blue goes to IGN box, as well as the regulator.

Get a Relay with 2 power outs. 1 to ignition box, 1 to regulator. Trigger the relay with the IGN Blue wire. Then you should be good to go. I would guess that there is voltage drop caused by your old Blue wire. It certainly has enough to trigger a relay though.

Having to modify wiring in dart to fix charging issue. No big deal, just have to unwrap a bunch of wiring I just placed. O well....
 
Hit the swap meet at the show, picked these up have $60 in all of it. The signs hung inside the dealership.
