@halifaxhops hey, it’s on cnn right now, there’s a new federal bill/rule being debated that will tax crypto users on UNREALIZED gains monthly. Not sure how that’s gonna work. Or if it’ll even pass. But I guess Canada passed something similar last month.

just something to watch.

So I’ve decided to pass on that one in Oregon.

that said, I am going to open up my parameters a bit. Basically any 1964 Sport Fury factory 4 spd car, any color. Just had to be a driver, to higher end driver quality. No welding or cutting. Paint or engine swap only.

And @Mattax i did see your post about wanting something just because my grandfather had it. It’s not just that. This search actually started for him last January and I couldn’t make it happen in time. But it’s also because every time we talked about my dart or cars came up, so did the stories of the 1964 Sport Fury. So to me, it’s kind of become this thing that I grew up with in lore that I’d like to kind of have. Plus personally the body lines on those 1964 B bodies have really grown on me over the last 6-7 years. Makes me wish at times I’d done one of those as a project instead of my dart. They’ve grown on me so much that honestly they’ve taken the dream car place of the 70 Cuda that I had slip away years ago that started my addiction to Mopar muscle cars.

Good deal Chris. I like the approach...

Yeah, I would add a B to the fleet (never giving up the Plodge) .... 4 door Belvedere big block sleeper would be fun

That was the eventual goal for my 64 polara, but I decided I just love the poly in that thing. So the eventual goal for that car is once the dart is “done”,one of the poly’s I have will go off to a machine shop, bore to .060, forged pistons and rods, bump the compression to about 9:1. Then add one maybe two, HX35 turbos I have, with 14 mm exhaust housings, thru an LS intake manifold. That rust bucket will probably twist in half if it’d ever hook

Current law is you pay taxes on crypto if you make more than 600 in REALIZED gains. So for example , you put 100 bucks in, it goes to 750. You sell that crypto and cash out to USD, you pay anywhere from 15 percent to 27 percent in taxes on that 650 dollar net.

the new bill they’re debating is taxing unrealized gains.

so using the same example, 100 bucks turning into 750 dollar value, but you don’t sell it this time. You’re holding it in crypto still. At the end of the year, they want to tax you at a proposed 32 percent on the OVERALL value of your crypto account, not just the 650 you gained but haven’t realized.

Then according the cnn, they have it written into the current version of that bill, that if your account value drops AFTER you pay the taxes, you can only write off a loss if the original principal amount you invested drops, so basically if you pay the 32 percent on 750 bucks, and then it goes belly up, but it drops to value of 101, you can’t claim the losses despite having Paid the taxes on the 750 value. However, if it drops to say 95 bucks, you can only claim the loss amount from the original principal, or in this case 5 bucks.

confusing ain’t it? Typical of any law these days haha.

Like Frank we got dumped on with snow again and it is just below freezing so just a slick slushy mess. It was kind of pretty tho this morning. Pix is our front yard. I was thinking about moving my bench back to the porch as I sit it out in yard every winter so I can run snow blower on porch. I like to sit there in the evenings and watch the corn grow.

When you retire and move south, you won't need to move the bench cause no corn to watch grow.

They finally reopened 81 overnight. Reports say at least 3, maybe 5 dead. 50 to 60 vehicles. Said what took so long is they had to remove the surface of the asphalt cause it was saturated with antifreeze, oil etc...
Good Morning
