Cleaning parts to get the 51 merc back together. Ready to drop intake on.

"working" today... Most everyone I interact with is out on vacation this week so it's really quiet... which is good. Just boring. I'd rather go down into the garage and do some things but as soon as I do I know the phone and email will blow up.
Lol I know that feeling. I’ve been putting out fires. One of which I started when I tried to update my withholding information and it totally screwed it up. Freaking hate taxes. It’s too damn complicated

Really sucks when they move the decimal and put it in the wrong space… moved it two places to the right…

In San Diego County all fireworks are banned. But right next door to TJ all forms of sky rockets were being launched all night. They smuggle them over the border.

That's probably where a good share of these came from. The fog was so thick last night the water was condensing on the utility wires above me and falling on my freshly washed truck while parked in a spot I was certain I would be able to see the fireworks from the Elk's Rodeo Grounds. Not only were the fireworks covered by fog, but my truck looks like I been rained on again .

Well I just rolled back into Fargo from a very impromptu whirlwind trip taking another trailer load down to Arkansas. Worked like a dog for two days then headed north. But we now have AC! Woo Hoo! We moved the bed from middle of shop floor to the classroom. We will start laying floor in the bed rooms and work our way out to class room. I also got some steps and handrail done for entry from outside. And a dropped ceiling installed and a couple of doors hung. Jodi just all but did the drop ceiling herself. We had to finish that to create the separation from shop to apartment. And I went all redneck farmer engineer wiring AC unit, as it has heat strips and furnace it called for 6/2 wire. I figured out amp load for AC only and winged it with some heavy romex. I will replace it later and do it right. That was all the wire I had onsite! 2,000 miles plus a grenaded tire on very heavy trailer.in 90 plus degree heat with no AC in the diesel. I rolled windows down, put in ear plugs and turned the music up! Drank Gatorade like a pirate! Arghh! No way on earth I am back reading four days worth so my apologies to anybody that made a request of me.

Damn!! I feel your pain. I've begun making suicide runs NE of Tulsa on the weekends. Drag a trailer full of crap each weekend and try to do a little something on the house.. Actually last day working will be 8/26. Then officially a bum.

The lake house in OK may be a bust in the long run tho. Started thinking we might just stay in Mexico. Started work on our residency. Maybe this winter we'll see how long term living on the beach goes!!!

For the what it’s worth traveler section. My Six States Diesel average cost was 5.26. Mostly all Casey’s as they were right at .25 cheaper than most truck stops. And be prepared travelers, I had to wait in line at the pumps this trip. I have not waited in line for about thirty years? And most all stations had one or two islands out of fuel. I was unprepared for the amount of folks on the road. I thought sure with the escalation of fuel price it would reduce traffic. Boy was I wrong! Be patient Tim as I know you are doing the long haul, my puddly 2,000 miles in a weekend does not even compare to your cross country jaunt! Hah! Also note my fuel cost average is all fly over states zero coastal prices.

Yep we are doing exactly same thing. It is killing me, Once I get full time I will ping you as your lake house is only a couple hours away from us. Should you have an interest, and are in the area, Nighthawk custom is doing a demo day at our facility in Ark. on Oct 1 They will bring a bunch of different pistols etc for participants to shoot free of charge, there will also be a super discount on pricing if you purchase a firearm at the demo. But be prepared if you order one it is about a 14 month lead time at this point. They simply refuse to compromise on their quality and or process. They are dogmatic in that, one gunsmith builds each gun by hand, start to finish. Even as a preferred vendor and a sponsored shooter they did not care when I ordered my last one. 17 month lead time it was/is. Keep in mind I ordered a total custom one built to my specs and not one they normally produce so I got some extra lead time on mine. Arghh! But if you have never shot a Nighthawk I simply cannot explain the difference to you. Way better than sex. Ok wait, well maybe not….. O who am I kidding heck ya it is better than sex!

nope they will burn everything to the ground......
And besides, not much of a loss anyway. Except for a handful of cool people like you, the rest of that coast could burn and I wouldn’t shed a tear

Wow, I am tire now, the work @Sublime one and @Old man ray are putting in sure is a lot of miles and time put in, I remember being younger, but thats a bunch men, glad the ac is in and working for you, Oops! Promps to the ceiling installer to

I was thinking U Haul might be a better idea. $40 a day + .89 cents/mile + fuel. One way would be the way to go. You would have to do the math.

Won’t be long Cuz and I will be stopping by up on the hill! September is still my hard date for no more Fargo! Once I am back home in Arkansas full time everything will be much easier. My boy and his wife came out to the farm and surprised us with cooking pizza on the grill on Sunday. We had a great time in our impromptu kitchen.

Hah! Anything is better than middle of shop floor with no AC! I attached a pix of where we were sleeping! Cools down to about 80 or so in the evening. AC is good! We just had to get some doors hung and a ceiling in or we would be pumping AC throughout entire building! (100x40) with 17ft eves. Our apartment is right at 1600 sq ft. Much easier to cool than whole building!

IF you can find one. One way Uhauls are nearly impossible to find and they’re not charging just 40 bucks a day anymore

How about in a hay loft ?

Well I finally went back to the gym. After about 2.5 miles of running, lung capacity was fine, barely breathed hard, but my legs were jello. One of the trainers noticed, had me try out this fancy hydro chair, set the focus on my legs, specifically my knees, for 10 minutes. My legs felt like brand new. Ran 2 more miles afterwards and went back to the chair. No pain. Weirdest thing ever
