IF you can find one. One way Uhauls are nearly impossible to find and they’re not charging just 40 bucks a day anymore
I don't know about that. I just got the information from their website. I didn't pull the numbers out of my ***.

Didn’t say you did. But my point is, I’ve seen recently posted in here by one of our members something like 2500-3000 to rent it for a week to drive from like Texas for Wisconsin or something like that. One way

for what It’s worth. San Diego to Indy’s, approximately 2400 miles. One way. One week, That’s a hell of a lot more than 40 a day(280$) and .89 cents a mile. (2400 x .89 = 2136.) after sales tax, 2600 bucks if what the picture Mike posted was accurate. Not saying he’s wrong, but that number changes when you get to check out and that’s after you don’t add any thing extra at all

I booked a 9' van yesterday. $29.95 per day and .78 cents a mile. Will pick it up on the 14th and return it on the morning of the 17th. 3 days, less than $60, plus mileage. Roughly 300 miles round trip to Carlisle. So $60 plus about $234 mileage plus gas. Same as last year except for the expensive gas.....

Yep TMM we found same thing as you did. It is pricey to rent one way. At present I am spending about 850 dollars round trip in gas. Thus it just does not pencil out for us. Eats and hotel will be the same obviously, and I am figuring my time and wear and tear on my truck is minimal. Hah! Plus have you ever sat in one of those rental trucks for a day? Man they are short on creature comforts! Like a day cab only worse! I will get AC fixed in my truck ASAP. I was just not planning on this trip over the fourth. I have not needed AC in my truck for many years! Think Fargo weather!

But that’s round trip. They’re charging premiums for one ways

So further investigation has revealed that there are hidden fees that tack on once 1,000 miles is reached for one ways, or 500 for round return. These fees are to cover the return of the vehicle back to the region it originated from.

Otherwise all the U-hauls would end up in Florida, Texas and Tennessee...:D:p

But in reality, MOST of them are rented to another point. And another, and another. Each trip, collecting the extra fees. $$$
True. I've never rented a U Haul Truck or Van or Trailer that had Maryland tags on it........

Not sure what states are cheapest to plate a vehicle, but I’m sure they know! I know years ago, all of the cold storage’s trailers had Maine tags and we didn’t have a facility there.

Got lots done on the mercury, but my hip was giving out. Finally starting to feel better. Hung the tarp/awning on front of house, makes sitting outside more pleasant when theres shade.

Got about 80% of the floor built and tacked in my son's rat rod this weekend. 94⁰ in the garage today. 4th Gen camaro rear seat fits perfect in a Model A

Smoker eh ! Hmmmm. Sounds like a challenge for me, I hope to try this soon.
One of the keys on the grill is not using thin crust as it seeps between the wires. A bit tougher dough solves that, also we use a torch to kind of finish off the cheese on top. Just a swipe or two really makes a difference. We also have evolved to a pizza clay on the grill, then once dough firms up move it to the wire for that grill char marking. Grill pizza hints 101! N joy
