More show pix. The Duster is my buddies who is also our local Sheriff! We both put re-election posters on dash and parked beside each other. It was a hoot.
Yeah... took a bit to figure out the release to remove the old one. I'm thinking it's an adjustment for now. Last recorded filter change and band adjustment was like 10 years ago.... but only a couple thousand miles

Ok this is not car related but just cool. Crop duster in front yard. He is old school and flies under the power lines and does not bounce over them like the young guys do.

It’s gonna be funny next year. half the A10s here in the Air Guard in this state are going to F15s. Going to be interesting seeing how their attitudes and flight habits have to change. The F16/F15 guys and gals usually stay stupidly high up in the clouds to do their attack runs. A10s come in tree top leve or lower
59° out there this morning. Almost jacket weather. Not complaining though.

They extended the lifespan on it once already. Not cheap to do. USAF wants it gone. Nothing really that will replace it maybe the new spookeys (AC-130J)?
Power wagon does it for me.
Pretty bad *** 130. I helped work on one once in the desert. They did not have a avionics guy with them. Not the J one the older AC-130. Pretty cool gave me a coin and some spent shells from it. Still have them.

Marines will fly them (C130) until 2090 or beyond AF gets all the budget dollars! Hah! Many an hour in em.
Army aviation units have it together. I used to help out the army guard unit on LI on thier H-60's. good group. Funny the difference with the army and AF. If one sytem is still operational the pilot will take it no problem. USAF no way.
I have worked avionics on all the specop 130's. Even a Morocann A model that broke down on our base. man did that think stink inside and it was hot!

Maybe on active duty or in another state. I spent nearly 7 years in one. The Aviation battalions here are usually stuffed with boot licking officers who couldn’t find their way out of a paper sack, and the maintenance crews are marginal at best. NCOs are either stupid green or ready to retire and out of f$$ks to give.
Now the refuelers, those folks have their **** together.
