See mopar ignition stuff call me!The big Mopar meet is at Maryland International Raceway on Saturday. Drag race, car show, small swap meet. I think I will go. Weather should be nice in the '70s. Get my Mopar fix before I head out on Tuesday..

You can go either way. Distributor does the same thing and is way less than a crank trigger. Is there a difference? Doubt it.ah yes, gotcha. using the control box to set timing, don't most use a crank trigger then also? Distributor just has a rotor in it.
What motor again? 340? Also what distributor? I am assuming electronic.I am trying to figure out if I am doing the right thing with my timing. I have 18° at idle with vacuum advance disconnected and plugged. 36° or 38° at 2000rpm if I remember correctly. But the vacuum advance is connected to manifold vacuum as the 660's have no carbureted vacuum ports.
38 is about the max you want in there. How is the curve on that? I would go in a little fast not crazy fast. That make sense?
I think it is 38 and all in at 2000. Just not sure if I should have vacuum advance hooked to manifold vacuum. It seemed to work well on my long cruise up to Mopars in the Park, but not as happy at WOT. But there shouldn't be any change at WOT as there shouldn't be any manifold vacuum at WOT, just the mechanical of 38, right?38 is about the max you want in there. How is the curve on that? Got off work yesterday and was picking up my daughter, I spotted a demon from three blocks away, had to go take a look. In a town of 12,000 people you don’t see to many old mopars. Sitting in a parking lot, nobody was around, so I didn’t get a good look but seemed mostly original. It was fun to see, should have snapped a picture. I’m guessing it might b one of the last weekends to see the old cars cruising around
I will try to look into it all closer this weekend. Timing without it hooked up and plugged. Initial, all in and rpm when in. And with it connected, etc. ThanksLots of variables there. Easiest thing to do is hookk t up and hit it with a timing light and see what the curve is. How much advance does the vacuum advance have, when does it start coming in, can you adjust the vac adv to come in at a certain vac etc.

I have a digital timing light. Not sure how good it is. I do not have a tape on the balancerAlso where it is at 800, 1200, 1800, 2000, 2200 if you have a tape. Do not trust a old dial back timing light they are always off.
