Stop in for a cup of coffee

Still chilly this morning but gonna warm up to forty before day is over. The snow has totally paralyzed the County as we don’t really have any snow removal equipment. And our terrain is quite mountainous. They finally shut down several roads as the boneheads thought they could get thru, then call emergency services when their 4wd or AWD slides off into the ditch rant over. Morons. On brighter note the Pups are full time snow bunnies!

How's the young one's needlework holding up?

Actually amazingly well. I still have to control the licking a bit but overall she has been “cone of shame”less . I have yet to let her out off leash other than the kennel. I am thinking one more day of house arrest then let her go. My concern is the jumping and lunging thru the deep snow. By same token the snow does not allow them to stretch it out and run. Today is her last day of pain meds. Yesterday I also supplemented a couple Benadryl to knock the energy back a bit. Stitches are holding well. On follow-up call Vet remarked at the muscle development on such a young dog, I then explained the four mile run every morning regime to him. He said it has made a huge positive impact on her development, and wished more folks would exercise their dogs. I think she is going to be just fine in spite of our deviation from post surgery protocol. The Vet was pretty cool when we spoke and I questioned the extreme lack of activity direction post surgery. He said you have to understand I am a licensed and insured doctor I cannot give any direction other than what is written. Then added you need to recognize your dog is an athlete and not a typical patient. He had a great sense of humor.

Getting my plan together for picking up Ramcharger. Flying on a Sunday and staying at a hotel in Sparks (recommended by seller), called Western Village or ?. Cheap and two restaurants, steakhouse and Mexican and it's a Casino of course. Will test drive, do paperwork/bank first thing Monday a.m. and hit the road for 13-14 hour drive. Still trying to figure out overnight middle stop, may stay at my sisters in Eugene.
