So good news, starting my new job tomorrow. Anxious and excited.

I've heard the VA claims regional offices have hired more processors and streamlined in an effort to make the claim process quicker.
They told me yesterday 14-24 months is their new average. But lots of simple cases are approved in as little as 6 months here

Thanks . Been trying to get a hold of a VA rep, that’s been a no go so far. I finally joined the Legion so I’m gonna start working that thru them
Here is a site that will provide hours of reading for you. I PM'd a couple of the mentors on this site when I was working my claim and appeals who were very helpful with my questions.

And like I said earlier if your claim is approved it is back dated for pay to the date you applied.

I was very fortunate when it came to pulling the pin on the pension grenade. My trade union has a built in early out formula, they called it "30 30 60". 30 years in the trade, 30 retirement credits (1 credit/1000 hrs worked), and 60 yrs old was full pension rather than the 65 years old standard pension. I was very fortunate in my employment life to gather so many of those credits to where I'm sure the pension fund computer cringes each time it makes my pension wire transfer to my bank account. Not too many of my brother Engineers had the opportunity to work the number of hours that I did due to the seasonal nature of the beast of equipment operating.

I am glad I have two retirements. Just does my bills but I know a ton of othes that were not so lucky and worked a lot off the books and get almost nothing now.

The company I worked for 36 years, just told me they couldn't afford me anymore. Gave me my pension paid my medical insurance and 2 weeks' pay for every year there. And kicked me to the curb at 57. That was 5 years ago.

And how many times did you smile and wave to them with the check in your hand on the way to the parking lot?
