Stop in for a cup of coffee

Hey Tim. I saw the pics earlier. Hows yur doggie doin ?
She is doing real well. She sleeps inside but sometimes she has to pee in the night. We have a side door in our bedroom that I would just open and let her out, then when she was finished she would come back in, and I could close the door without getting out of bed. Well, NOW I have to walk her, FOUR times last night!

Glad your dog is doing ok, Tim. She looks sweet.

I'm back from the basement. Took the intake and one of the heads off. Interesting. I wrote about it in my build thread.

I'll be cc:ing my combustion chamber tomorrow, I hope.

No idea!

I'll do some measuring tomorrow. Maybe if I leave the gasket on there it'll work.

How would you CC cylinder with pop up pistons?

Put the piston down in the cylinder and measure how far it is. then fill it with water and see how much it takes.

Then put the piston to TDC and measure how far it is above the deck.
Then calculate how much volume would be above the piston. The how much it moved. Then compare the measured values with the "Theoretical cylinders"...

this

Or simply pull one, find the part number, google said part number and get the compression hieght and go from there, looking at that, I'm guessing 11:1, possibly higher

That is how I do it! Never did it tho with any piston that was a Pop up or domed.

It's more accurate to measure your parts to find the compression of your combo...

There it is. I knew you'd show up with the answer, Karl. Thanks!

Good evening folks!

Cold rainy day here but I got a few things done. I finished Mitch's logo designs, hung the latest large canvas art print that's been sitting on my living room floor all week and I just got back from visiting my Dad at his Alzheimer's care facility.

What's everyone else up to?

Hello everyone. Had a wonderful, sunny day here in MN.

I got the car going. It ended up being a bad starter.

I had some other issues, which Im somewhat irritated about. One concerning a Carter fuel pump I bought from a member here that ended up being junk. I was told it was in good condition.. Not sure what to do about that situation.. Probably not much I can do now.

Heck, you're a Mod Ramie....Call him Out !!!

Fun day today even with driving in the rain. 8 year old grandsons birthday party. I don't know who enjoyed it more her or I. I didn't like sticking her with the driving but I'm still not allowed to. She didn't seem to mind. Sucks to get burned on buying parts. Do you have any recourse.

If you buy something that's stated as good it should be good. Or the seller should stand behind it. Simple as that.

Did you get a new fuel pump to replace it yet? If not, I can dig around and see if I still have the one I took off my 360 Magnum when I changed over to the electric pump. If I still have it, I'll give it to you.

I actually bought another Carter just to have as a back up. Im glad I did. The other one was brand new and worked great. I appreciate the offer, and thank you!

This is why I like this place. More good members offering help and parts then bad ones who only look out for themselves.

I agree, I just reread the ad and it said bolt on and go, in good condition.. :bs_flag:

Yep, I agree! I do love this site.

Good to see happy family times being had. Rain must be moving in, heard a few drops and it has been utterly still and silent outside all afternoon. Did some household chores...got to talk to my Dad today also. He sounds very cheerful and strong, an ice cream party was going on. He had no complaints which is what we all wish for our aging parents.

Just enjoying some meatballs I have going in the crockpot...

Im so glad we had a rain free weekend. We did a ton of landscaping yesterday. Threw down around 40 bags of mulch, planted some new bushes etc.. Today was a me day and I told the wife I get garage time... She let me have all day.

I'm jealous. It's been rainy and cold here all weekend so I couldn't get any of the landscaping done...and my GTS is still with my Speed Shop guy waiting for the new tires and spring shackles to arrive, so no garage time either.

:(
