Stop in for a cup of coffee

Morning sunshine! I am heading to LR today then on to Memphis then Birmingham. I tried to figure out how to accidentally end up in Jonesboro but my schedule is just too compressed. I really need to get my admin asst. dialed in better!
Your Admin asst. Don't let her read that. She's the boss and you know it! :poke: :poke:

I lost a day yesterday trying to help a buddy out with a Dog emergency. He is retired from AF and now bounces around country visiting old friends with his wife and two wiener dogs. Long story short the dogs have back issues and one of them fell off the bed and was paralyzed on back end. Two Vets turned down the urgent care request and finally got in to see one. It was an all day adventure. His wife refuses to put the dog down. Dog has no control of bowels, no use of rear legs and they have to push on its tummy over the bladder to make it urinate. Totally gorked out on pain meds. I understand how she does not want to lose the dog but that is just no way for anything to live. She has a sling to carry the back end of the dog like a purse. Tuff day. Plus I did not get to do the stuff I had scheduled, I only got in three hundred rounds of practice rounds yesterday.

Good morning tire kickers, its wicked Wensday again, coffee and a hair cut day..

Yeah.. that's a disservice to that animal. Yikes

Hate to say it it is time. I waited to long on my last one and she needed to go down on a sunday, no vet open. Hardest thing I ever did.

Have it in the passenger seat so you can use the HOV lane with the EVs of course! (Silly)

How ya faring John?
Super hectic this next two weeks. A bunch of us are collaborating trying to really dial in a red dot course for students. Then I head down to Birmingham to work with USCCA on a Carbine Instructor rating via USCCA. I am seeing them rapidly becoming the gorilla in the room and want to leverage their marketing arm for our training facility. Their communication distribution network is top notch.

They picked up Colion Noir as a spokesman. Their ads blow up my web browsing.

John I have to ask how did you get into the training? I think it is great.
Well I did not really choose it. When I got out of the Marines my career planner essentially told me I had no real marketable skills and I only had two options, go to work for the Mob or get into LE. What I did have was a knack for coaching and teaching other shooters. So invariably I would build a range on our farm and somehow I always ended up with a bunch of folks traipsing out for “lessons” it was not official or anything remotely professional like we do now. I did not market or seek out the customers but I just could not say no when asked to help someone. (a curse) Long story short I began attending NRA instructors courses to legitimize if you will my credentials, frankly very few students care what you did, or what you were in the military years ago. You have to stay current. As I walked that path and got more elevated credential's there became fewer and fewer folks that could train and certify me. I continued to compete and won this and that, State Titles etc which in turn sent more folks my way. But in the end what I really liked is the teaching, taking a student that can’t get on paper to making “A“ box shots at two hundred yards gives me a feeling of satisfaction I cannot describe. Then fast forward a few years and these demented souls that do the active shooter events created a plethora of folks that desired the ability to defend themselves. When we started we never in our wildest dreams thought about teaching school and church security. Just a concept that is hard to wrap your head around. Now church and school security is a huge portion of our business, which to me is very sad. So there is the short version! Apologies for length of rambling but you did ask! Hah!

@71GSSDemon Hey Eric. I have been chatting with Scot a bit on FBBO. I didn't know who he was until he told me. :BangHead: :BangHead:

(who do I know that is named Scot) (Blank)

My son has a big venue this Saturday, biggest crowd they have ever played for  . Greasy Tree has been named top band in Northeast Arkansas and three other bands open for them, they hit the stage at 9pm, so I won't be going, was told 42 hundred tickets have been sold by Monday morning, to big of a crowd for my wife and I. This young man of 40 years amazing me, full time engineer, and a hobby on the dirt track, and playing music, wife said he is a replica of me in my younger life, I say he is twice the man I was.. so proud.

That is so cool! For those not from this area @memike is being more than humble. His Sons band is very well known and extremely good.
