Technically my school was uphill both ways. We lived on top of one hill, the school on top of a hill with a valley in between. And yea, I did have to ride my bike if I missed the bus.
 
I’m probably the last generation that did the duck and cover nuke drills too

Right there lies the reason my Dad taught me how to operate the machinery to keep those rakers and shovelers busy by supplying that material to busy them :lol:

Ha. I'm older than you and we did not do them.
The Civil Defense handbooks I picked up at a county 4H fair explained it thoroughly and succinctly.
"If you're at point of impact, you've had it"

When I find that one I'll post a photo.

Nope can't get it. I even downloaded a program to convert it. I can view it but can't share it. Let me see if I can McGuiver it.
