3200-3400, please tell me that is the stall and not the cost lol

Nothing wrong with a 361.... but wouldn't pay $2500 for one when you can get a running 400 for less than 500..

I wish Tom had one for you but no. Interesting, I called him yesterday and he started talking about converter issues with his race car. Jeremy Bishop hasa extra one and he runs a small block, but it flashes at 5500 or so. Too much for your combo.

haha yeah my cam would run out just past that... would be funny for a few minutes though :)

No the 350 is the hard to find one.
The 350 cu in (5,735 cc) B engine was, along with the 361, the first production B engine, first available in 1958. It had a bore of 41⁄16 in (103 mm; 4.06 in). The 350 is classified as a big block engine.

And this. I googled it so it must be true!
What year did the 383 come out?

The first 383 was introduced in 1959, but as the raised block. The dimensions on this engine were a bore of 4.030 and a stroke of 3.750 inches. This engine was available with two four-barrel induction and a horsepower rating of 345 @ 5000 rpm.

Like a stick car with a bad clutch!  Tom's is a 5500 I think. And that's with a 496 or what ever he runs.

I really should order some 3.73 gears.. the 4.57s will be fun for 1 summer i think though :) I need to get some 10" backing plates so i can change my axles out

Yep, that's a bit steep. A good 1/8 mile gear with a screamin' small block.

It's FIat Friday!

yeah, one of the guys i hung out with as a kid had a 72 SS chevelle with a 396 and 4.56s and they are a blast but would get to be a bit much.. my last challenger had 3.91s and by the time i got rid of it i hated that gear.. i think i can fit 29 (MAYBE) a 30" tire which would help bring that down a little.. i'm just being lazy and not wanting to change the gears out..

Not a bad job with a 8 3/4. Maybe some one would trade?

Guy I knew in the old homeland had a 361 in a Satellite. Those that gave him grief about it not being a "real" big block, he put a $20 bill on the dash, "If ya can reach it when I nail it. It's yours." He then would proceed to nail them to the seat back with his right foot  Dave never lost a 20

We got some rain and done just in time for the weekend, we needed it, burn ban will be on for awhile tho. Oak Harbor Music Fest this weekend, 30 bands over 3 days, two stages plus a small acoustic set stage, may have to wander downtown and find the beer garden!

I have that swap down to about 90min if taking my time. I have been a bit fickle with the gearing. 3.91 or 3.23 or maybe 2.91....hmmmm how far are we going???
