Stop in for a cup of coffee

Well no cat burying today. Andy wants to do it himself I guess. We did drive to the nursery and look at some trees though. A hard maple is what he wants. Something with some bright fall colors.

I only stream so the only commercials I see are pharmaceuticals.... but yeah on the odd occasion i see one it seems the corporations want to promote some social message I think. Half the time I don't even know what the product is
I remember watching the commercials at the Super Bowl was as much fun as watching the Super Bowl itself. It seems so many of them miss the mark anymore. Creativity seems to be a lost art with advertising nowadays. The 50’s-70’s has so many creative ads in my opinion.

Commercials have zero to do with the product today.
Unless you want to believe the phony infomercials.
Give me the old days when jed and granny would fire up a Winston:rofl:

Those were the days. Even when I was little my mom dressed my brother as a pack of cigarettes for Halloween. Lucky strikes to be exact

No one today would know what Lucky Strike is.
Remember going to church as a kid and when it was over lots of people would go out side and smoke a cigarette even the Pastor. but now smoking is from the devil himself and anyone that smokes is going to hell in some churches.

The early 90s Super Bowl ads were still awesome, but by the 2000s, they generally ran out of ideas

I know what Lucky Strikes are. In fact, I still have several packs. No joke

The highest I ever got smokin' anything was 1 Benson & Hedges that I swiped from my dad  He was workin' on I 40 in Needles, probly 115° that day. I think I was contemplating the wonders of my hands and their movement after that smoke  WOW Look at what these things can do.

Cool! hang on to them might be worth some money.
Only old thing I have is my AA truck and me.
These are vintage 1941-1945… I’ve got a TON of old K and C rations, still sealed. But I also have several wood boxes full of the lucky strikes I took out of the rations. Dads got a wood crate full of Lucky Strikes that were delivered to be handed out during the war and never were

I forgot about Benson and Hedges. I was a Marlboro reds girl. His them from my mom for years when I was a teenager.

I got hooked on Kool's in tech school. The service manager at the dealership smoked Kools as well. Skinny, right next to my service desk, smoked Camel Straights and drank Wild Turkey. He lasted into his late 50's and he smoked a lot and drank as much. He lived life to the fullest.
