My house can't handle that type of charging without major upgrades. I know for sure the whole area would have to be upgraded by the power company first.

What about when all cars on the road are electric and every parking space has a charger for the cars... How is the power grid going to be able to handle supplying all of that power at one time... :BangHead:

It can't and remember the grid is shared between multiple states. It's already enough of a strain for the Western grid when the sun goes down in CA, ask me how I know

Just a quick fly-by...

Haven't been on at all this week, been in the hospital like you all recommended...

After giving antibiotics a week to kick in and fight the 'cold', I went in Sunday...

Turns out I had Corona 0C41...

It's not COVID... COVID is a form of Corona but not all Corona is COVID... --->>> Don't you all make that mistake...

I just got out yesterday night...

See you later...

They can't even keep the power on for houses and businesses when there is bad weather. Much less, some states say to turn your AC off in summer heat because there isn't enough power now - without all the damn cars charging. Or like they are finding with the very cold weather, not only do they have less range but they also charge very slowly. So then you need to "preheat" the battery so it will charge on a rapid charger faster. Is that "preheat" when they light on fire? should be warm now

Yep, and I lived through the great blackout of 2003 when the grid crashed from New York to Michigan and we were without power for 4 days... It was like an apocalypse...

So, I would be in for having an electric car, but I want a diesel electric like a train. Small diesel generator, wheel end mounted motors. VW did this decades ago. 100mpg, no batteries and no charge stations.

Yep, it was on the news here last week about the EV's having trouble charging and maintaining charge in the severe cold...

Charging stations not working, taking 5 hours to fully charge a car when it normally takes 45 minutes, and the batteries would not last as long when they were in that deep cold.... :icon_fU:

Not good for the future of transportation.... :BangHead:

Happened here during the cold snap which is nothing compared to where you live. Tesla was not available for comment but blamed the consumer for not pre-conditioning their batteries before attempting a charge. I'll bet some of those drivers also wanted to use their heaters which is a big no no, remember, we must SACRIFICE!!!
