Remember my electric problem last weekend? Finally got an electrician out this morning, it was arching, sparking, and tripping the breakers all morning so it became an emergency instead of the two week wait to fix.

I got exposed to the shuttles when I lived out in the desert. We used to see them hauling the prototype around on the 747 tow truck once in a while. I think we were 60 miles from Edwards AFB? There is Federal controlled air space all over that neighborhood, Edwards, Ft Irwin, China Lake. We were in the approach pattern from Ft Irwin to Edwards. I worked on the launch complex at Vandenberg for 3 years.

my car may have defeated me.... double flare tool works great, no more leaks.. so i rigged up hoses real quick to put water in so i could let it run for a few minutes (no fan yet) i wanted to check for leaks/issues before i do an exhaust and steering, easier to work on...

Trans in neutral, fine.. reverse fine.. first fine... second it makes a SHHHHHHHHHHH sound almost like sandpaper.. if i rev it at all it sounds like marbles.. and i mean like 1500 not 4k.. trans is working and axles are turning.. really annoyed and let down.. gonna post on the b-body trans forums with a full list of what was done and see if someone has a idea after i get some food in me..

Open headers are too loud btw..
 
****.. it will be a planetary.... i need to figure what turns on in which gear.. but if i put the wrong shell with gears it would explain the sanding noise then the marbles..
 
Checking in wife is at a lawyer's monthly dinner get together. She paid for a year last summer and this is the first meeting she's made. I'm on my own at least for a few hours so can't get in too much trouble. I had leftovers (KC Strips) and a Fargo John Tito's and G2 Grape Zero...life is good!!

No biggy... i don't have exhaust or anything in the way.. trans won't be too bad to pull.. I'm just annoyed that it didn't work perfect. Might do some upgrades while it's out.. B&M flexplate and bolt in sprag.. just dealing with the shift/park cable is a pain..
 
Another weird thing is, i swear it looks like my dist is wobbling back and forth when running.. might be engine shake though

Pushbutton?

I have the cables nailed... easy peas Just takes a lot of fluid. I got tired of jacking around trying to release the shift cable, so I drop the pan to remove and/or install.

i did it last time with a long seal pick through the hole.. guy on youtube has a great video showing that, but i will prolly drop the pan before the trans to see what's up and get as much fluid out as possible..

Solidarity Brother! I just got home from coaching my youth trap team and mixed one up. If it tastes like a Cotton ball swab from the doctors office, did you mix it to strong? I am asking for a friend!
