I think you need to test drive one of the sweptlines. I think you would maybe change your mind. They would go long distances but you might not. I know you are probably used to military trucks but I noticed as I grow older I like my comfort features

I'm pretty simple, but yeah, I totally get where you're coming from.

The 65 would have been a tank with about the same level of comfort
 
I ride in a restored one on a regular basis but we go to breakfast or lunch. They are noisy (which can be remedied) and slow and I love it but only for a short drive
 
Hey Chris I'm not an engine Guru but I know some of the old school busses had the Cummins in them and not sure if what you're looking for but old school busses are cheap.
Yep. But it’s tough finding a 98-2000 one right now. Cummins changed the crank register in 2001 on the B series.
