Stop in for a cup of coffee

-
I learned early in life about insulated water lines. My dad was a ready mix plant operator for numerous years for a contractor building the I 40 as it crossed the mighty Mojave Desert. I used to go hang out with him during Christmas Vacation. My first chores in the dark before sunup were to light the smudge pots he had for keeping his water flowing for the concrete plant, about 6 of those stinky things

I know you remember what the cold is like here. But it's a dry cold they keep saying. :wtf:
Keep telling yourself that Fred!

I was surprised to hear from my niece that their waterlines were in uninsulated outside walls. Here lies the problem. Here in Iowa everything is ran from the middle of the house outward. Even the outside water spigots are all sillcocks, and the valves themselves are at least a foot inside the foundation wall.

Morning all. The coffee is done. We will dodge (no relation to mine) the storm bullet. Craig and Cheryl will get hit but they are in Hawaii correct? It will be North of Memike and John.
Yep they left this morning. And I got a pretty serious bet with cousin @memike on snow tomorrow!

We only had snow once in the old desert homeland that actually had an effect on our daily lives. We were surrounded by 5000' passes to get in or out of town, but the closest one was 45 miles away. Snow level don't get down to 1600' very often out here and that's where Barstow sat. The hot rod Ranchero on those G 60s was fun getting home from work that night . Got snow once on the vineyards right across the river from the rock farm @ 400' elevation.

Mid 20s this morning here. Weather guessers say snow moving in tonight and tomorrow then of and on all week. Coffee is on and thinking about what to make for breakfast.

You said sillcocks...

I thought the short bus was for normal kids.

Yes, shorter bus, less kids to pick up, so the bus ride to and from school was not so long... For us elites so we didn't have to waste time picking up all the peasants...

(That's my story and I'm sticking to it...)
