Yep. Exactly. I'll be honest, the project has morphed so much, it'd entered the do it right and complete the first time and save time and headache in the end for sure

Been workin on Door parts all day. Stripping/painting rails and brackets. Freeing up , lubing up door mechanisms. Gotta order some new outside handles and some fender splash shields tomorrow. Gettin there...
 
Well, I'm back...

My computer crashed last Thur, and I finally got it back up and running. Video card was on the fritz, so I got a better one and upped my RAM... Then a fresh OS install... Now I'm ready for some CAD!!!

There's no way I'm going back 32 pages and catching up. I'm going to have trouble keeping up from here...

Wasn't too long ago I did my doors. You don't realize how involved that job is till you do it.
I was lucky to get both of those used/cheap in decent shape. I guess you have the metal splash shields. one of my plastics was ok, but other looked like it was hit with a torch when some body work was done a long time ago. IIRC both metal and plastic are big ca-ching. don't think the door handles are too bad on price, but I didn't want any new chrome.

What cad program? That's what I do daily lol
 
Good evening folks.

It's raining here now and the fireworks are cancelled. I spent the afternoon doing more stuff under the hood. I got the washer fluid reservoir cleaned up and added a couple of aluminum stripes to the A/C line mufflers on either side of the compressor.

wow ..the washer jar looks great. I don't think I have ever had one that wasn't cracked on the bottom
 
and on the 4th of July no less.. perfect! and it looks REALLY good too!

I put the engine back together and started it back up when I got home... now I have to get back to the timing and carb settings.. does it ever end??!!! :BangHead:
 
ahhh coffee -g'morning - the shop is open - it looks like everyone was catching up on some sleep (or something) last night
