Stop in for a cup of coffee

Some kinda upper respiratory crud. We tested for covid and it ain't that. It's kickin our BUTTS big time.
Sounds like what my foreman just got over, laid him out pretty good, heard him on the phone he sounded like do do. Lots of fluids helped he said

I couldn't imagine with all the electronics and miles of wire and connectors on an airplane.
When you get it figured out not to bad. Biggest thing I hated was say it got modified by a contractor and they tied AD and DC wires together in the same wiring bundles. They were a PIA to find. The ac sent signals into the DC stuff and it was always intermittent!

You could get a coupling nut, cut the rod and chase a few threads on each end, but I'm guessing you want to keep it original.
That would be slick. One set of threads need to be left hand? If I could find some round stock I might be able to make one. Drilling the hole for the cotter pin might be tricky. I want to try a thick gasket. That will in effect, lengthen the rod. Hopefully just enough. I don't know if it has a non original carb on it or the base gasket is too thick. If the carb is jacked up the choke rod is too short to close the choke butterfly all the way.

Looking for a small sheet of header gasket material. Make me a gasket or two for under that choke. I thoight about making a new choke rod if I could find sole round stock. I'll try a gasket first.
I keep that stuff on the shelf. Fel pro metal reinforced gasket material.

I'll have to look for that. I saw some FP gasket material but it looked like just thin paper. I was thinking header gasket material. I think this is 1/16"

Hey Fred....what are your thoughts? I need to do this on my 39. Any suggestions?

Frodee

Yup, i watched it. And i will get to see it in person when i visit him again. I would have cut the sides about 4 or 5” instead of down the center. Turned out better than i expected. I have a buddy involved with shrink wrapping boats, thinking i may be able to get a few feet, and shrink it to conform to the roof. Its thicker than the masking poly he used.

Good deal for home use.
