Stop in for a cup of coffee

Are those the 6 leaf ones? I think those were the same as the factory Heavy Duty springs that came on the 340 cars.
I believe the SS springs are different than the XHD ones that rolled off the assembly line.

What's leaking?
little touch of oil - might have just been from distributor while I was fussin' with the timing and it was still a tad loose. (I just can't not rip on the throttle..) Also, the transmission at the speedo connection..

so, that ol' Dart is lookin' pretty spiffy there Mr. - like what ya going on
Thanks. I'm trying to clean her up and get her to an even level of patina. I want it to look good but still show it's age where it should.

I was replying to the leaf spring stuff because I'm in the middle of doing the research for new rear springs for mine. Everything I've found says the 2800lb SS springs are the same spring firmness and spring rate as the Mopar XHD or repro OEM 6 leaf, but they are 40% lower cost. The correct SS springs for mine would be the 3400 lb ones...but they would be stupid stiff and no fun on the street.

What I can't seem to confirm is whether the ride height would be correct with the 2800 lb springs. Some of the stuff shows that the height would be around 1" lower, which I wouldn't want.

At this point, I will probably just get the Mopar XHD and not sweat the extra $$.

I couldn't find much info on them other than the 2800# ones are for a pro gas car. Couldn't find any info on rates or anything.
I put a set of mopar xhd on an e-body, no good as it sat lower than the 40 y/o ones that came off. Lots of folk have not been happy with the mopar xhd springs. Mine were made in Mexico.

Well, that sucks. I guess I gotta keep researching then. Maybe I'll consider the Repro OEM ones. Otherwise, I'll just take these off and get them re-arced.

I didn't repaint the throttle return spring bracket yet. I cleaned up the heater control valve instead...

My gosh I miss a lot of stuff in here. I can only assume your taking about tying a good one on?
I wish. No, my brother-in-law has late stage liver cancer and is awaiting a transplant. A donor became available late at night last Saturday and after a long and complicated night/day, the transplant was aborted shortly into the surgery when the carotid artery in his neck blew out. They spent 2 hours getting it under control and save his life. The liver went to another recipient.

It has taken most of the week to get everyone back to normal, especially him. He was understandably angry and depressed when he woke up in the ICU without a new liver.

Oh wow! Im glad they were able to save him, but sorry the transplant didnt go thru. I can understand the stress everyone must be feeling.
Yeah, it's been a tough week for everyone.

Tonight my daughter is having a friend sleep over and between the two 11 year-old giggling silly girls, I'm spending a lot of time in the garage. The sounds of life in the house are healing in one way...but maddening in another! :)

I'm needing new springs for my Duster so just doing some reading on what guys are using and how they like what the have. General consensus on the 002/003 ss springs is that they're a bit stiff for the street and I can't find and info on the 2800lb ones.

I've run the 002 and 003's on the street for decades, they are fine... If I recall correctly, I think they are around 160 lb/in spring rate...

Yes, I tried the xhd mancini repros once and didn't like them as much as the SS 002 & 003. I use the 002 & 003 on all my a-bodies...

My kid's Valiant has SS springs on it. I can get pictures of it tomorrow..

Just came in from the garage. The girls are asleep. I got one last thing done, a little color on the valve covers...
