George I would cut the metal out of the roof for you though.......[/QUOT]
lol, not sure my head and neck could stand anymore head on collisions at this time.
yea - the kit I installed was an S&W - don't remember which one though...I've been looking at cages an ended up on S&W's site. Found it interesting that they recommend .134 erw over .120 dom. Stating the .120 is close to the edge as far as passing tech and any variance might not pass. Imho the.134 would be incredably HEAVY.
Easier to dress it up a bit without the wiring in the way,eh?Got all the soot off of the car finally. Looks lonely without it! LOL Might have to get busy with the airbrush!
Doing it by taking one out at a time, figuring it out with what is really there and what the schematics say and take out all the crap I don't use like seatbelt interlocks, choke timer etc. Seems easier then the whole melted mess at once. Takes a freaking while. Should have plenty of open pins to run the gauges through the bulkhead connectors and the other stuff.Easier to dress it up a bit without the wiring in the way,eh?

You could always power it with a small separate battery that isn't part of the main system. Maybe like a small motorcycle/lawn tractor battery. It could still be on the charging circuit to maintain charge and still power the "kill" which would leave it independently powering the switch.Been looking at bat solenoids but think of it, it always has to have power to turn off a cont duty solenoid.

Wiring is my least favorite task and not one of my strong suits. What I startedwith and decided an aftermarket harness would be easier for me to deal with. The engine compartment was just as bad.

Decided it is easier just to up the insurance a bit! LOL really do not want to be a rocket scientist with it. It is the POP!
I actually broke down and got a real set of car wiring tools a Packard 56 crimper and the single installation and removal tools for just about every style terminal out ther. Been doing a lot of it lately. The Packard are a pain in the *** to crimp right without the right tool. View attachment 1714950286 View attachment 1714950287
