Change made in 65.. Pre 65's have a nut that hols the drum on the rear, to the tapered end axle shaft. On 65 they changed to what you are more familiar with. Axle flanges at the end of the axle where the drum mounts..
ah ok, didn't know that. thats good to know.

Looks like @PosiRon Body is coming off the chassis this week then the rolling frame over here for a refurb and painting. Trying to get to Klingers today for a few random truck parts (hopefully)

Think it is a fast go and pull, prob going alone. Just need a smog pump, glove box door and a kick down linkage, just cannot get the bend right in the one I have and a few smalls.

or you could go buy the right tool... just sayin'......
Not worth it prob just use it once. I actually have one Dean has borrowed. Had it for years, cannot even tell you where it came from either.

Mounts on the wheel studs then pushes the shaft through. Might be a loaner tool at the parts store, just looked them up close to $100

Prob no biggie. I like this yard clean and as organized as it can be. Prob see my friend on the way back he always has some interesting stuff there to look at.
