shelf life of a Twinkie I am sure - but DAMN they were good! Hell yea - no filling would be like a friggin' Oreo without icing... yuck!

I was deployed and in the tent was a box of Twinkies left by the last group in there, well we had the munchies on night and broke into them, friggin sour. Looked at the date on the box, they were three years old!
