impressive that you know what a grinder is - most folks outside of New England have no clue
Around here it's mostly 'sub' I sometime see places that sell subs use 'grinder' to mean a hot sandwich. Usually toasted to melt the cheese.no sir, what's a grinder?
Yeah, bologna doesn't belong on a Italian hoagie. What Subway calls an Italian just ain't so. lolkind of an Italian grinder - sans the bologna
Same here, never hear the term grinders unless over on the boardwalk.Around here it's mostly 'sub' I sometime see places that sell subs use 'grinder' to mean a hot sandwich. Usually toasted to melt the cheese.
Yeah, I don't like their bread either, but then again I'm picky on Italian bread. Some places maybe they do bologna, but where I grew up most places had a sandwich similar to what I described or you order whatever you wanted. Growing up, a $6 sub was 2 ft long and 6 inches wide. You could feed like 6 people with 2 them. LOLI can't stand Subway - I think their breads are horrible. And if I am going to pay someone to make a grinder for me - I will go the extra to get it from a pizza shop. Growing up - I remember an Italian grinder having bologna on it...

we have a sub shop here called the Big Cheese, been open since the 60s, I frequent it often, I can get a whole custom true foot long sub sandwich, two sides, a dessert and a drink for 8 bucks. And it's all home grown meats, veggies and cheeses. Known them for years.Yeah, I don't like their bread either, but then again I'm picky on Italian bread. Yeah, before the internet destroyed everything local, before the rise of Walmart(though they're collapsing now), back when you still had malls and arcades and long time department stores like sears, K mart, Macys, Pennys. Now, it's a concrete waste landthat sounds about right - the good ol' days
