Stop in for a cup of coffee

once it dawned on me what to do it was very simple - I put the cover plate with boot on the car first, put a set of nuts in between that and the bracket, remounted the bracket and boom, everytings fits.

So. I have a question. I think I've asked this before but what the hay, I can't remember .

I have 3 miter saws that I have acquired over the years. Is there any reason I can't convert one safely to a chop saw for metal use?
Not sure what you mean by convert, but I would think it should work. I have used metal cutting abrasive blades in a circular saw that are made for it. That's the first critical thing blade fit and in range for motor speed. another thing I would be concerned about is side pressure on cut off blade, made for edge pressure only. Either can grenade the blade. I doubt the miter saws are built as tough as most chop saws. Metal and debris from cutting are hot. Any openings and plastic parts not gonna last long. Probably good to blow the motor out frequently. Last would be clamp differences. Miter saw holds board flat straight across, chop saws generally have clamps to hold at varied position , although some are quite cheezy.

Hmm probably just garage sale the two I don't use then

I've looked at that one and for light duty like I need it for, I think it'll work. But I need to ditch one or two of these miters first. Outta room

So I get this message from my brother.... he bought himself a toy

Btw, I watched the latest episode of Engine Masters on MTOD earlier. They tested straight pipes vs H-pipe and X-pipe with the same mufflers. No discernible difference, like 1-2 hp on top and a few foot-pounds (god, how I hate your units) down low. The X-pipe setup made the best sound in their collective opinion, though.
I never thought the primary benefit of an X or Y pipe was HP, though it does theoretically improve fuel scavenging a little. But it's more to smooth things out, reducing glug, vibration, strain on the heads, valves, gaskets, shafts, everything, and improve the general engine note especially at idle. 'Cause basically you have two times per cycle when cylinders on the same side fire consecutively, and on top of that, those occur back to back.

oh nice - I need to store that one -- a shot or a drink?
Depends how sloshed ya' want to get and how fast, I guess. My nephew and I discovered it late one night when we were out of conventional liquor and mixers. Never named it as far as I remember but I don't remember.
