Stop in for a cup of coffee

Yep George it sucks taking a punch to the eye area. I had 4 stitches too and looked pretty beat up for a couple weeks.
OK nap time! Catch you all later.

Fucked by the army again. I'm highly considering filling out a request for discharge.

Temp is about the same here. I think the humidity is a little higher. Not terrible if your just out and about, but trying to work in it....
Temp is pretty summery here. Gonna be warm all week.

Just stopping by on the way to the couch...stomach acting up a little, nothing a heating pad, a prescription pill and a nap won't fix. Got the timing set finally on the Fury, runs quiet and happier now. Also my a/c got 2 cans of R-12, nice and cold. For about 30 min that is until I hear a hissing coming from the evaporator.:BangHead: It lasted 46 years though.

Get better soon...

So you can say that all of your R-12 'evaporated'... :BangHead:

Oh speaking of missing items, my bike is gone. No one locks their bikes here, if I have to buy another bike it will be locked! Still hoping I might see it around so I can steal it back...

That sucks, you should have locked it...

Not on the same level, but in my younger days I had my heart cut out and handed to me more then once.

Now that is much worse than someone taking your bike. I am not really that upset about the bike, even though I really liked it...being upset isn't going to change anything. In retrospect it is only smart to keep things locked, better safe than sorry.

fudge that garbage! I repaired the bad wheel on our grill yesterday - on a scale of 1-10 it was barely a 2 - that's about as close to working in this heat as I want to get!
Still going...bumpers are on. Working the dings out of the wheel well trim now.

Hi guys!

The inspector was here this morning and approved the deck framing. But it was so damned hot on that side of the house in the sun that the builders only got a little done and left around 11 am. I don't blame them, it was 98° on that side with the sun reflecting off the side of the house. It doesn't get into the shade on that side until around 3 pm. They are going to come back tomorrow and work a mid-afternoon through early evening shift.

Is it normally that hot there this time of the year?

we are breaking record heat #'s here today - so it is a bit hotter than usual, but over 90 with 60 and even 70 dew point #'s aren't unheard of here in the dead of summer - and we're what - the better part of 8hrs. north of central Pa.

nice - so done for the weekend maybe or is that pushing it?

the closest I have ever come to being a victim was when I was working at a "ma & pa" convenience store and these three kids came in acting all weird and suspicious.. I knew something was up (I just figured they were going to steal stuff) so I asked them all if I could help them. One of them starts toward me and says "yea man, this is a hold up, give us all the money!" -- I looked that punk square in the eye and told him that **** wasn't funny and that they had about 10 seconds to get the F out of the store before I took their stupid prank to the next level.. they ALL just about fell over themselves apologizing and begging me not to call the cops - they were so scared I thought they were going to piss in their pants!! ----- best part - I had no weapon.. maybe a nearby baseball bat, but that was it.. idiots.
I had a similar sort of thing back when I used to run the night shift for a friend of mine that owned a Sunoco service station with a small convenience store. One night around 10 pm, a punk in his early 20s came in when the place was empty and pulled out a knife and told me to give him the money. I just stared at him and then said, "You're an idiot bringing a knife to a gun fight." He sizes me up and says "Man, you ain't got no gun."

I kept staring at him and said, "You're right, I don't...but he does." motioning over his shoulder. Just opening up to the front door was a PA State Trooper who had pulled in just as the punk walked through the front door and was watching the whole thing.

The kid dropped the knife and the cop cuffed him and stuffed him his cruiser. When the cop came back in, he said "Man you were cool as a cucumber. Weren't you worried he might rush you with the knife?". I said "Nah, there's a spray can of starter fluid and a lighter sitting on the counter, he never would have gotten close to me".

The cop walked out the door laughing.

Love city council meetings. The wife is in a heated discussion with a citizen that is proving himself as a trouble maker.
