Stop in for a cup of coffee

Oh, wait! I scored a work bench at 'work' yesterday. I think I'll start filling it with crap.

That will not take long I bet.
Oh, I'm sure. It's a very sturdy bench, too. It is way too heavy for me to carry it by myself, even with the legs removed. Probably 100 pounds. I'm planning on replacing the fiber board with steel plate so I can weld on it.

Ever see how the welding tables are made? Bunch of flat metal strios on end usually aluminum so the welds do not stick to it.

The ones I see are usually made up of 6-inch strips full of holes, like modular fixtures. I'm thinking just a 1/4" plate, though. Simple.

I was in Fastenall yesterday to arrange shipping of that test set, I forgot about all the stuff in there, I was surprised my business account was still active, ordered a bunch of bushings for the distributors to get rid of the plastic retainers, dam things always crack.

Hm. Lighter, that's for sure. My main concern will be either getting a large piece of sheet metal home or getting it cut to (roughly) the right size at the getting place.

I use a metal blade on a hand held circular saw works great.

What I do to stay motivated is make a list of what is needed and cross them off when it is completed, actually motivates me.

Motivation isn't a factor usually. It's find where to start lol

That table is that big?
No, but I have to buy a whole sheet unless they happen to have a scrap piece that is the right size. It's a wholesaler in Gothenburg. They do cut up for customers but a whole sheet is HEAVY. The only sheet metal I can buy that is of reasonable size is too thin and the price is ten times higher in a regular hardware store.

Cool I just got invited to a friends Guard retirement party Aug 5 it is right across the river so the pop will be my chariot to get there, will be good to see some of the guys I served with again.

another thing I do is flag stuff that needs attention with flagging tape, really feels good to rip it off when it is done, looks impossible at first with all the streamers but it is great when there are just a few. Ron is actually doing the same on his Monte Calo. We slapped the frane together quick but still needs to be finished and some bolts torked.
