So you can can get neat little laser cut pieces when you need? lol

Yep, they can cut to order...

They can cut notches in beams and cut the ends to angles to order... Customer just has to put in place and fasten...

Of course, they do charge for the cut...

Agree, been there killed a 1500 doing a lot of interstate towing when I moved to Fl. and back. Dodge 1500, but at 89k had already been into the rear with axle saver bearings and it was starting to hum.
Had a friend had a F150, overloaded and broke the axle shaft several times, another friends Dodge 1500, broke axle flipped the truck, and new trailer, totaled both...

I towed the cuda on a rather heavy open trailer (with no brakes) from NC to TX behind a half ton. No problems at all. I towed the dart from CA to TX behind my current half ton.. no issues again.. second trip was a decent trailer with brakes, that makes a big difference..
As far as this^^^. you dont know you have a problem, till its too late and you cant stop, or cant stay on the road in a emergency condition. I have driven overloaded trucks all over the country. Not fun, on the edge of your seat all the time. Good trailer brakes make a huge difference.

I bought an E 350 van after that. What a difference. I wasn't riding down the Highway with my butt puckered up pulling a 6-7k load. Along with 2500/250 up series, better brakes, suspension, better trans etc. One in a while with a 1500 was ok, but to get out there running back and forth killed it.

I love when I see a Toyota pulling a fifth wheel! OMG!! Or even better, a toy hauler on a ball hitch, not fiver.

well - me might be crazy, but me sure isn't stupid.. gonna do a more serious search for a 2500 - or even a 3500? the "thing" is, it'll probably have to be my DD

Not a huge difference between the two, might have a lower gear ratio in the 1 ton. Until you go to duel rear wheels, you wont see much of a difference.
