She has the correct 74 oval snorkel air cleaner, that is a good unit there. She also has a 70 deck lid emblem.

very good taste in cars, at least she wasn't sucked into the car world on one of those weird little early A's.

She's not every experienced, but with some proper instruction, I think we can make a Rani out of her. She has the interest and enthusiasm and seems eager to learn. I told her that I'd help her replace her leaf springs on her car. I told her to bring a pair of "grubby" clothes that she doesn't mind getting greasy because she'll be turning wrenches also. I am a hands on teacher and will do one while she watches, then she gets to do the other. The best way to learn is to do it, not watch someone do it, you retain more that way...


She's still learning the name of most of the parts and what they do. She'll catch on in time.

I told her about you Rani and sent her a link to your "Suzy R/T" thread. She commented that she liked your attitude and enthusiasm.

I just don't like that some of the mechanics she's used seem to be taking advantage or her. So I'll teach her how to fix it herself and not have to get ripped off. She's already had two different guys rebuild the trans... :banghead:

I don't want people ripping her off to drive her out of the hobby. Her Dart is her daily driver. She wants to work all the bugs out of it and drive the wheels off it...

We have a family party to go to later. It will be nice to see everybody, as we haven't gotten together for a year and a half... Not since we lost mom and grandma... It's going to be good to see everyone, but may feel empty without mom and grandma...

At the very least she will have a better idea as to what things "should" cost as opposed to what someone wants and, she will have a better idea of the issues so some unscrupulous mechanic doesn't take advantage is she decides to use one.

Good luck with your party. Hoping it will be a fun healing time sharing memories rather than a sad time. Remember to celebrate the life instead of mourning the death.Wishing you the best.
 
back from the bacon run... took the bike as its a nice day today and got side tracked on the twisties. Looks like brunch for the wife and me now

Did ya get enough for all of us? Coulda layed some on the pipes and ate as soon as you got home.
 
Can't sleep all night lately. Only get about 6 hrs before I'm up. Some thing must be on my conscience , my Mom used to say. LOL
 
2 days of bondo for me so far. Quarters near done. A few details yet on the drivers side, passenger side needs a bit more work
