Stop in for a cup of coffee

She's got a nice looking ride. Nothing wrong with that engine compartment. Looks better than something somebody has hacked up and half-assed..

That's what I was trying to tell her. :violent1:

Just take it to a self wash and power spray the engine compartment and it's fine...

She uses it as a daily driver and wants to get the bugs worked out.

I have a feeling that she's a perfectionist. Nothing wrong with that... I am too, that's why I like to do things myself, so they are done to my standards. I like to do things right, not take short cuts. You can do it right the first time, or do it over later....

Fun problems to chase. I got an electric choke setup for the slant i need to install. Hopefully it doesn't create an issues.

We have an electric choke on it, it's also a slant.

I think that the throttle bracket is not right, I can't get the cable back in the "fitting" far enough to get all of the slack out. Then it's a little low that makes the ferrule on the strand hit on parts of the throttle bracket on the carb. It needs to go back more and up a little to line up perfect for the throttle cable, then figure out how to get the kickdown figured out...

Looks like a job for 'Karl, the Fabricator'...

I met the new female FABO member from here last night at the local cruise. She's very cool and has a sweet 71 Dart, 318, 904, 8 3/4" axle, P/S, P/B, A/C...

Nice paint and interior has no rips. She was a little self conscious about the engine compartment, but it was not really bad at all...

She's interested in learning how to wrench on her own car, so I will try to show her how. She found another woman at the cruise spot and is talking about starting a "muscle car women" club. Nothing wrong with that, we like to see woman cruising. I think her and Rani would get along real good. She has the enthusiasm like Rani, just needs to learn how to work on them.

welding is the most empowering thing any one can learn in this hobby. Once she masters welding, anything is possible. Welding is more empowering than burning your bra ...I know, I have tried both and welding makes you feel 7 feet tall. The burnt bra just makes a mess and starts smoking and doesn't go up in flames like you would think, then after its charred you just realized that you need to go to Wal-Mart to buy another one because you really needed that one you just burned.

Then she will get to the point where she wont date guys who cant weld. It just seems hard to call a guy as a real man when he cant even weld and claims to be a "car guy". its like he might as well get a prius and get it over with and save a lot of people a lot of head shakes.

She has the correct 74 oval snorkel air cleaner, that is a good unit there. She also has a 70 deck lid emblem.

very good taste in cars, at least she wasn't sucked into the car world on one of those weird little early A's.

I was totally set to paint my wagon black and then someone mentioned that it might look like a hearse. personally I think it would take a mighty low I.Q.ed person to think that but now I am back into the color charts trying to find a new color :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

I like your thoughts in 3rd. person. lol Brighten up your black with a silver strip of some sort. Or red is cool.

Good morning all in FABO land. On the colour thing, black and red look tre cool but black is hard to keep looking clean and HOT in the summer sun... my .02

yea early A's are really weird little cars ...I have been looking at a 64 dart wagon that local guy has and suggested he would be open to some trading on it.

for a beginner I would say that would be a no go because they seems hard to restore because parts are expensive and hard to find.

the more I look at it the more I like it.

Early A's are like the level 3 model kit. cool but not for beginners.

70-76 cars seem like the level 1 snap tite.

67-9 cars are level 2 model kits because they are not too hard to work but very expensive.

Here's a cool look.

Good morning kids!

So welding is more empowering than burning your bra. I can honestly say I have never burned MY bra So after your comment I am sure I never will. I also wear a one piece bathing suit, You will never see me in a two piece suit.

I like this one.

Sorry, if I'm causing trouble. #-o

I've had a dark blue wagon since approx 1993. First 2 were Taurus wagons. I don't think I got the hearse comment on the second gen taurus with bubbly look, rounded windows. It was also a slightly brighter blue. I know I heard it when I got the first, older style 1989. I have also heard it several times on the Magnum. Not like it's frequent, but just thought I would put it out there. Its one thing to hear that about a factory car. I think I'd take it a bit different if I had done a lot of work to a car and painted it myself.
